1995 Alfa Romeo 145 from Netherlands - Comments

"Warning for this dangerous car!!!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CAR.

It just stops without cause while waiting at the red light, but even worse when driving at high speed. Sometimes suddenly the motor speed will be limited without reason at about 2000rpm.

The problem?? They just don't know... (3 garages)

I don't dare to take my children to have a Sunday ride anymore because I'm afraid that when it will stop again, I'll have an accident.

How could something like this be approved by the safety autorities! A shame.

This car moves like an elephant. It looks good as well but that is it.

General comments?

THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CAR.

I have a similar problem on my 1998 1.6 twin spark junior.

Poor ticket over fluctuates between 600rpm and 2000rpm, on pull away will suddenly die and not rise above 2000rpm.

When on the move the car appears to "mis".

Mine has also been into the garage many times all with large bills and no improvement.

Does any body have a solution?

Thanks.

Peter.

I am having the same problem with my Alfa 145 - 1999. When pulling off I have my foot fully on the Accelerator and the car just chugs as if the is something holding it back (like I have the hand Break on) then suddenly the car rushes forward at a very high speed. The same is happening in 2nd gear.

I have only had this car 7 months. I bought it from a small garage in the Buy and Sell. I was given the NCT Certificate but I have my doubts that it actually passed!!

Is this a common occurrence with Alfa Romeo cars??

I bought my 145 1.8 ts year 1997. And I am surprised to hear about your problems with your Alfa's. Because mine works better than a Mercedes. I can only suggest that you should check all the sensor (debimeter or something like that, or perhaps cold start sensor,...)

I'm sorry not an expert I only had more than 15 Alfas already.

I hope you'll be able to repair your cars, because they are actually good cars.
