I have a 2005 Sebring Coupe with 37,000 miles... I've taken it back to the dealership 2 times (different dealerships). The front end shakes, when I reach 60mph. I can feel the steering wheel shake, at that speed. I was told at both dealership, nothing was wrong with my car.. each time the car was taken out for a test drive, nothing happened.
Can anyone give me some advice on what to do next?
I love my car.. being a single female, having my car in quality condition is very important to me. Aside from the above issue, my car has been very dependable.
When was the last time the rotor were changed have them check that.
It's probably the rotors only if the shaking occurs when you brake. If you drive normally and the front end shakes, it is probably your tires. One out of many things may have happened; a balancing weight may have fallen off (put there to balance your wheel after the tire has been put on the rim), one or many of your wheel bolts (or nuts) may be loose, the tire may have a manufacturing defect (not very probable), you may have hit a curb or an object when driving making your steel cord inside your tire bent, even your rim may be bent. Or there may be a foreign object stuck to one of your tires (piece of ice, stone), this may explain a shaking suddenly coming and going. Especially driving in very snowy conditions may lead to icing inside the rim. Leaving the car inside a heated garage for 2-3 hours solves the problem. Or there may of course be more serious problems, like a bent drive shaft or a dozen less likely things that may have happened.
Like the other comment said wheel out of balance or a bad
tire. Move front tires to the rear and rear to front. See
if shake goes away. You can isolate problem by rotating
one side at a time.
