"Looks and performance of a Ferrari but at a bargain price"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Driver's airbag warning light has been repaired several times due to the electronics being stored under the passenger seat???

Problems with the windows not fitting into the seals properly.

General comments?

Great car with stunning looks.

The performance is wonderful and the road holding is the best in this class by a long way. The engine noise alone makes you smile everytime you turn the ignition key.

This is a true sports coupe which like all cars seems to be let down by poor dealers. If only the dealers could fix cars as well as they can sell them.

The problem with the window seals can be cured quite easily.

The problem occurs with the top seal.

Look at this seal, and you can identify a hooked over rubber bit, that runs the length of the seal. Where the window slots into.

Using a very sharp knife, cut this rubber bit off, the whole length.

You can do a good job by pulling the seal away from the body as you run the knife along the rubber.

Trim any excess rubber to make it look good.

This will totally cure the wind noise problem and still provide a good waterproof seal.

If you have a later car, the windows automatically drop by about 0.5cm when you open & close the doors in order to clear the seal, so DON'T cut off the rubber!

Always make sure that the doors are properly closed and the windows have shut themselves completely (the warning light on the dash stays on if the window hasn't popped back up into place).

If the wind noise still persists, its off to a dealership to get the windows adjusted!

P.S. Always try to open/close the doors using the door itself. Repeatedly pushing and pulling on the glass will force the windows out of alignment and lead to wind noise in a short space of time.

Superb chassis strength!

Wonderful braking power, also with the ABS, that annoyes some people, but has saved me from several incidents.

The airbag problem happened when someone moved to hard the driver seat (In the car wash). And the problem was solved by disconnecting the battery for some minutes (I saw the Alfa people doing it, and they said they had to connect the car to a computer, FALSE).

Good fuel saving in city driving and highway to.

Slow in city, but fast in highway.

The engine cuts at 7500 RPM.

We went 220 km/h (Sorry Dad) at 7000 RPM.

Greetings From Spain.

A quick fix for the window problem is to put it down a bit and then back up again when driving. and if you're getting out, just gently push the top corner nearest the pillar in with the butt of your hand until the seals goes over the top; it works every time for me! tried to get it fixed 3 times, but keeps doing it (something to do with a window regulator, apparently) so don't bother spending money on this common silly Alfa fault!
