Every once in a while, the dashboard gauges, (the tach and speedometer) will fall to zero. I slap the dashboard to immediatly correct this issue.
This is my third Wrangler and I absolutely love it. I have had very few problems with any of my Wranglers. Clearly the newer models, 97 and up, ride much better than the older ones. This is a comfortable vehicle and the most reliable car I've ever had. I have never been stranded by a Jeep.
Keep in mind, this is not a vehicle to be driven at speeds over 65 miles per hour. Its not a sports car people.
My friends seem to think it it somewhat loud and rides a bit rough. I don't notice that.
I love being able to change the look of my car whenever I feel like it! Sometimes it's a "doors off" day. Other time its "top down". How could you not love that?
I do wish they would make an automatic convertible top though!
Heater like a flame thrower in the winter!
Your Wrangler is NOT a YJ, it is a TJ.
The last year of the YJ was the 1995 model.
It was replaced in 1996 with the TJ which was introduced as a 1997 model.
(There were no 1996 model year Wranglers)
The YJ's had leaf springs and the old style dash.
The TJ's dash looks more like a traditional Chrysler dash.
