1990 Ford Granada Scorpio from UK and Ireland - Comments

"Nothing's perfect, but for the money this comes pretty damn close"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Auxiliary warning system intermittent.

Electric window switch bulbs are out (complete switches required to rectify the fault).

Dead rear seat motor.

Steering rack is worn.

Temperamental handbrake warning light.

Air conditioning condenser has had it.

General comments?

Overall for its age, this was a pretty impressive motor. 2 litre motor was not too gutsy and could only just manage a ton, though this could be to do with the replacement gearbox, the origins of which were questionable.

Only minor niggles to spoil the occasion.

Bodywork holds up well with just a slight hint of bubbling over the rear arches appearing after 10 years of hard graft.

Generally a big, comfy cruiser with plenty of toys to play with and not at all bad on fuel, even on the school run.

Recommended.

Hi, bulbs in the electric window switches can be replaced, 12v 60ma bulbs from Maplins.

Rear seat motor may need a gentle tap with a mallet, then greased.

Both these worked for me.

Cheers
