Window dropped on first day when locking the car. Upgrades have been done to window electrics, but rear window which is never used drops by itself. Renault deny faults are inherent with car. We believe they are inherent as many upgrades have taken place. The windows drop for no reason and costs £350 per window to fix. Renault will not accept bad design and bad quality control as cuse to failures.
The same problem of window failure is common on Clios. The regulatour just fails and snaps through bad design. We are on our third drivers window regulator.
Anyone else suffered with window regulator failure.
Good car apart from French electrics.
It is caused by water getting into the window regulator connector. The water shorts out the anti-pinch mechanism and the window opens on its own.

I hit this site in Google searching on "Megane window problem" since yesterday just as I was locking the car, I got exactly that problem. I don't buy the "water" explanation as this is the middle of the longest dry spell I can remember, and also it hasn't been washed lately.
My problem seems very similar to the one described - one of the unused back windows suddenly opens and can't be closed. It must be a design fault.
We have a problem with squeaky front brakes. Renault have advised this is a common fault with the Megane and they haven't found a cure. Has anyone else had this noise problem, if so have you been advised the same?
Could you also let me know if the Megane Expression 04 should have alloys?

I also have the problem with noisy brakes.
I took the car to my renault agent and they cleaned.
The brakes. They said when they get dirty they become noisy.
I didn't paid anything because everything is still coverd
under warranty. but unfortunately they are still a bit noisy sometimes, but not like before.
Has anybody had a problem with the Renault Megane Sport rear window? The first time in using the heated rear window the window exploded and shattered. My garage say that they have never heard of this problem before and as it is this year's model I wondered if anyone else had experienced the same thing.
Had the same problem on my 54 reg tourer, no reason why it did explode, but did.??? anyone else had this happening

I have a Renault Megane Sport, less than a month old. The rear window shattered when I switched on the rear window heater. Don't Renault call this the see clear function? I can definitely see clearly with the rear window in a million bits.
Glass especially curved glass is always under stress. sometimes small imperfections in the glass can weaken over time and cause the glass to shatter for no apparent reason.
My 53 Megane passneger window has been stuck up and down in recent weeks, took it the dealer and was told it my be covered as it's a known fault. Upon taking my car in for the work today I've been asked to pay £304 as it's the regulator and not the swicth and, of course, the switch is the known fault.
Robbing basts!!

New Megane Sport Cup, 1 month old. Used the rear window heat for the first time in the rain yesterday. Window now shattered. Not happy. Do Renault accept this as a known fault?
