The usual clutch, brakes, shockies and tyres, but that was from my mistreatment of the car.
The speedo was 10km/h off (i.e when I was going 60km/h it stated 50), the odometer stopped at 23,500km presumably in 1984.
The only problem that was not caused by me being an idiot driver was a ruptured heater hose and radiator hose which cost less than $20AUD to fix.
My only complaint with the car would be that it does chew a lot of oil making it necessary to fill up once a month, but that's no big deal.
This car is awesome. In the year and a half that I had it I never serviced it once and didn't even give it an oil change. Yet it continued to drive as smoothly as when I had bought it. The L20B engine is an absolute workhorse, its basically impossible to destroy it (I'd know because I disrespected the crap out of this car and it still kept going). The car was extremely comfortable as I had the limited edition Aspen GL with comfy seats and alloys (if your looking to buy a 200B I highly recommend the Aspen GL as they're extremely classy).
The car was fun to drive and handled well even with relatively bald tyres on it. It was not too bad on petrol either. Repairs are extremely simple to carry out and its surprisingly easy to find parts from wreckers and the like.
To anyone whos thinking of buying a 200B I would highly highly highly recommend it. They are great cars, simple to look after, can take an absolute beating and look HOT! I'm currently regretting selling mine and am looking for another one.
My grandmother has had her 1980 Datsun 200B since new. She has loved it since new and serviced it regularly. It has been garaged and has only done about 98000 Kms. It's a great car, but she can't drive anymore so we'd like to sell it for her. West Sydney - driving777@hotmail.com
I have just recently bought my Datsun 200B off my aunt who bought the car off her aunt and I love it it still goes like a brand new car and has never failed me.
Any one wishing to buy a used car I highly recommend the Datsun 200B.
