"150,000 miles and still kicking!! I will cry when I have to trade it in"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Needed to replace head gasket within 2 years of purchase.

Muffler replacement at 149,000 miles.

Alternator replacement at 149,000 miles.

General comments?

I love my car!!!

My parents bought me this car the day I got my drivers license on August 30, 1997. It was used- 10,000 miles for 10,000 dollars. Neon's have gotten a pretty bad reputation- but I love my car. It is a soldier. The army should have bought these instead of the Hummers!! I've put 140,000 miles on it over the past 9 years. It's had not many major problems. It performs beautifully- even after 9 years and 150,000 miles. It makes me feel comfortable driving. I don't know how I will ever feel as safe in another car. The day I have to trade it in will be a sad, sad day.

I am the original owner of a 97 neon 4 door.

This car has been nothing, but EXCELLENT.

Has 155,210 miles on it and the only major issue I have ever had with it was the head gasket blew at about 104,000 miles

replaced it and it has been running like a champ ever since.

I'll continue to run this car until it dies.

Love this car.

I have maintained a 1997 Plymouth neon Highline for my girlfriend since September of 2001. It now has approx. 194,000 miles on the odometer. Despite requiring a lot of mechanical attention to several problems occurring between 80-140K; it has been an economical and safe car to operate.

I fully anticipate this car to surpass 250,000 miles with minimal repairs and contiued regular maintenance.

Furthermore, It's my opinion that any car capable of rendering over 200,000 miles of service to it's owner is worthy of investing a modest amount of time and money to maintain it's driveability.
