Rear main seal at 10,000 miles.
Clutch replaced at approximately 145,000 miles.
I bought this car new in 1994. Twelve years later it's still running, but does need some engine work, as one of the cylinders has very little compression. That makes a difference when you only have 3 to start with!
The mpg isn't what it once was due to this problem. It would probably cost more than the car is worth to fix it, but I will probably do it anyway.
This car is about as stock as it gets. The only options are a passenger side mirror and rear window defroster. I can tell you that 12 years without an air conditioner is not fun, but that's not the cars fault.
I will probably get another car and keep the Metro for work and a back up car. I can't complain about the car after 12 years of driving it in the midwest with all the seasonal changes in weather.
I would like to know IF anyone might be able to shed some light on HOW to identify these different versions of the cars?? VIN numbers?? Etc... I am looking for an XFi, but do not know HOW to tell one, if it has been repainted or had body work done that has eliminated the model ID from the cars???... I am looking for any help I can get. I HAVE 2 91 Metro LSi Convertibles, but would like to have an XFi.
I can be reached at coellectors@verizon.net if anyone can lend some help to this. THANKS!!! Bill.
