"Car eats motors!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Original Motor had thrown a rod at 100,000 miles with no warning.

The 2nd motor now knocks, but only at start up and at the light in gear. with 70, 000 miles on it, it's Serviced like it should be and everything else works and holds up fine.

I have been told the motor just needs a oil pump, or it's the bearing, or intake manifold is leaking. but no engine light comes on, and good mileage and performance! No overheating, no other issues!

Other than struts to be replaced, it's great. Can someone convince me or tell me what is wrong with this motor?

General comments?

The 2.7 motors buildup sluge in the engines. This causes the motor to clog somehow. the 3.5 and 3.2 are stronger motors. My advice to you is to get rid of it.

The original writer of this thread doesn't have the 2.7L engine. He clearly states that he has the 3.5L. On top of that, the first generation Intrepid was never offered with the 2.7L, but with a 3.3L pushrod 12valve V6 or the 3.5L DOHC 24valve V6.
