2001 Chevrolet Blazer from North America - Comments

"An absolute dog to run and maintain"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

First Battery corroded cables

Second battery only lasted 2 years

Had to replace hatch lifters after less than 3 years

Had 2 recalls on it

Problems with tail lights not working even after

recall

Seats are very bouncy for the amount of use, the back passenger seat wobbles when no one is in it.

Very rough idiling. All services have been performed as scheduled yet there are still many problems.

General comments?

I would NEVER buy another Blazer, it is very costly for maintenance.

It does not handle as well as other SUV's

Too many items have had to be replaced due to not working properly.

Just wondering - where are you purchasing your batteries from?

I live in the Nevada desert. The original battery in my 2001 Blazer lasted just under a year. Almost every new car I have had over the years the battery will last about the same.

The second battery I purchased was designed for the high heat of the desert, and its still working fine after 5 years.

I also had the tail light problem - I think its still fixed - after reading your comment I am going to check it. :)

I just had the idler arm and pitman arm replaced - something I had told the dealer while it was under warranty (purchased an extended 75k warranty), and they kept stating they couldn't find any problem. My Blazer now has 89,000 miles.
