There is an annoying vibration when the vehicle is
in gear and idling. I have had the dealership twice
try to get rid of this vibration, but they could not correct this fault in this brand new XTrail.Their
last remark was that the timing was set to "factory
specifications" and they could not change it as it would make it worse.
Ditto. I have the same vibratory issues with my x-trail, along with many squeaks and rattles which the dealers can't seem to find or fix. If Nissan would address the vibrations while the vehicle is in gear and idling this vehicle would be awesome, and would make a world of difference.
The excessive vibration at idle can be cured in one of two ways.
1) Have your dealer check the ignition timing. It should be at 16ºBTDC.
or
2) Have your dealer set the idle speed slightly higher - around 800rpm instead of the standard 750rpm.
This should reduce the vibration at idle considerably.
This vehicle is easy to drive with outstanding visibility I especially like the center console over the traditional drivers side guages. Highly reccomended.
