2006 Nissan Sentra 1.8s special edition from North America - Comments

"Better looking than the 07 sentras! lol"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Creaking sound from the passenger side pillar at around 300 miles. It was very annoying, but dealer fixed it under warranty. It would have been 108 dollars. The mechanic said that there were 2 plastic pieces in the pillar that were touching, thus making the creeking sound.

Window on the right side in the back makes a squeeking sound when I put it down. It only happens when it's wet or raining outside. Minor annoyance, but its still there.

General comments?

It's the special edition! I love the package that it comes with (spoiler, alloy wheels, 300 watt stereo system with sub). Gas mileage is okay (25 mpg according to the trip computer). I hope it gets better as I use the car more. I love the charcoal interior because it looks sporty. Unfortunately, they use cheap plastic which makes it uncomfortable- the hard plastic on the middle arm rest and door handles hurt my elbows.

My nissan dealership gives bad service. When I went in to get the creaking sound checked, the mech. who was test driving it drove my car hard. He'd floor it everytime after he would come to a stop. It also took 3 hours to get it fixed!!! He told me it would take only 1 1/2 hours at most! It's okay i guess since it's fixed now.

I love this car because I'm only 18 and I got it brand new. We got a good deal on it (i think). With taxes and all, it came up to $17, 500. To be honest, I wanted an '06 civic coupe, but its too expensive and I wouldn't have gotten the same features in it that the sentra has for the money.

I LOVE MY SENTRA!!!

Ha, I wanted the Civic too. Or maybe a Scion TC, but I had to get the Sentra as well. Oh well, they're very nice cars.

Wait, only 25 mpg? Mine gets me 29 to 30.5 mpg depending on traffic and speaking of traffic I live in New Jersey. I would say check the quality of the oil, etc that you put into the car. I mean you are not driving an SE-R (in which case 25 mpg is acceptable) and SE-Rs get about 25 while the 1.8S SHOULD get about 30mpg.

My sentra gets 32.2 mpg and I drive in stop and go traffic in downtown Las Vegas. The worst gas mileage I've gotten with it was 31.9. You should have that checked out.

Maybe taking your foot of the gas now and then would give you better gas mileage, less RPM's better MPG's! Don't gun it every time you go some where, try driving like a old person for a week and see what gas mileage you can get.

I have an 04 sentra 1.8s and I love it, I'm 18 and drive 110 miles a day roundtrip to work, I get like 34-35 mpg at like 75 mph. The most was 37 but that was at 65-70mph, and in michigan where I work the speed limit is 70, I can't stand when people fly past me lol. When I got mine it had 54000 miles on it and I've had it a month and it has 58500 miles on it, that's an oil change every month!...Oh, and don't push your overdrive button in unless you absolutly need it, that wastes gas too, I know its fun to play with, but leave it alone haha.

I just bought my Nissan 1.8S with 28,000 miles on it, and took it on a trip to Wisconsin from Minnesota; about a 2.5 hour trip. My highway mileage was 37.5 miles per gallon, most of that was freeway driving though, very enjoyable to drive, handled the road well, seemed to accelerate fine, although I really did not get on the gas very much, as I wanted to see what this vehicle could get for top mileage.

It's my first foreign vehicle. I have always owned American and I am 49 years old, but with gas prices the way they are you go with the good mileage.

So far so good. I like the special Edition styling and the performance so far.

Can anyone tell me if the fancy "Rockford" 6 CD changer plays MP3/WMA recorded CD'z.

I got a 2006 1.8 special edition with 28000 miles. In the city I can get anywhere from 23 to about 30 mpg. On the highway I've hit 50 mpg going 55 mph. I love this car, and the sound system blows all my friend's cars away.
