So go buy a Toyota, maybe you can handle that.

Sounds like an abused truck!

My 1993 ford explorer has had no major problems, in fact the only thing that actually went wrong with it was the mass air flow sensor. that's it.

Now, this is 196000 miles of ownership.

Yes, it is outrageous that you would need a new battery for a 13-year-old vehicle! You clearly deserve compensation from Ford for making such a shoddy vehicle. You should never buy another Ford as long as you live! I'm not being sarcastic or anything, I'm totally serious. Really. Sure.

All my siblings swear by Toyota and Honda. They can't understand why I buy used Fords, they think I'm crazy. When Toyotas and Hondas have problems the owners seem to justify it quite naturally as a matter of wear and tear. When a Ford needs repair, these same people scoff and repeat their mantra, "My Hon/Yota has never let me down, you shouldn't have purchased a Ford" what a crock of snobbish drivel. I have owned 4 different Ford trucks, all were satisfactory except 2.9 Ranger, even so, it did not die on the road.

My younger brother slaved over his old Civic quite often, in the driveway all weekend. He also purchased a brand new Toyota Previa van, what a pile, tranny dropped out TWICE among other problems. My older brother has so little confidence in his almighty Toyota, that he won't even take it beyond the city limits, while still proclaiming the greatness of Toyatas?! My 20 year old 2.3 Ranger is still a daily driver, 26 miles each way, 3500 ft. elev. gain on return trip!! Sure, its not quiet, it doesn't steer or turn with precision, but it IS far more reliable than my brothers holier than thou Toyotas. P.C.
