1988 Audi 100 CD from UK and Ireland - Comments

"Superb long distance cruiser"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Rear callipers seized, expensive to replace.

Slight master cylinder leak into the driver's footwell - now sorted.

General comments?

I loved driving this machine. Exceptionally tough, smooth and the fabulous 5 cylinder noise.

High fuel comsumption (30-32mpg) but this included regular redline workouts (pretending it was a Ur Quattro :->) Safe handling and fierce brakes bailed me out of trouble more than once.

Might buy it back in 10 years time when it's run in.

I have the Audi 100 86 D-reg, and it's done 158000 miles and it's still running good. Everything is good, the power is there when you need it, and it's big and comfortable, and good to drive.

It's a 2.0 litre 5 cylinder injection, and it's very good on fuel - around 28-29 in the city, but if they go wrong, they go wrong.

Solid, lasts a long time, a good car.
