The ECM needed to be reprogrammed (A recall item), The engine light will not go off...
I recently took the car to the dealership for a recall to be done, The ECM needed to be reprogrammed. Prior to going to the dealership, I never had a problem with the car. Since the recall was done, the car has been back to the service department for a sensor that just so happened to go out the very next week that they fixed the recall problem. Now the car is supposedly fixed, but the engine light will not go off... What a Ko wink a dink. Now my wife is refusing to drive the car with the engine light on and she is driving my new dodge charger until such a time that I decide to give Nissan some more of my money. I think this is ridiculous and not coincidental. I think that it is time to go ahead and cut my losses now and take the car and trade it in for another dodge and cut all ties with Nissan vehicles...
I have a 2003 Nissan Altima 2.5s. It has 92000 miles on it and it has had a few problems.
I too have heard the water gushing sound in the dashboard. That is air trapped in the heater core. Not a big deal.
It has had a few sensors fixed here and there, but for the most part it has been a good car.
All new cars have their bugs and problems.
You sure don't want to purchase anything from Chevy. Their cars are horrible. I will probably buy a Toyota or a Honda next time. I might even purchase a Ford Fusion. Those things look sweet.
