Nothing at all.
I am a 23 year old single guy and I drive this vehicle because I
1. Am 6 foot 3
2. love the room and comfort
3. drive 925 miles one way to go see my mom whom has been sick
It is more practical than the ford expedition I was looking at and we have no clue what the gas prices are doing and the sto and go is great I found a new couch at a yard sale and took it home in the grand caravan with no problem It is great and I would likely buy another I got the 6 year 100,000 mile maxcare warranty just in case but don't think I will have to use it
the only negative thing I have to say is the 3.3 is lacking power in the mountains with 5 people it shows.
Grate = to have an irritating or unpleasant effect (to grate on one's nerves)
Great = excellent; wonderful.
2006 grand Caravan Stow and Go with 3.8 liter motor. Hopefully, the transmissions aren't as bad as earlier models. I get 24 mpg on the highway. The thing rides like a boat. Suspension seems inadequete for the weight of the vehicle. It rocks right and left, over bumps. I think this vehicle could be dangerous and roll in high speed cornering. Fortunately it is a fleet vehicle and I don't own it.
My recomendation:
PUT HEAVY DUTY SHOCKS ON THE REAR AND IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT AND IF AVAILABLE HEAVY SPRINGS ON THE FRONT TO REDUCE THE ROCKING EFFECT.
Still, it is not a bad vehicle and has been around a long time and has seen many improvements.
I bought the SXT edition fully loaded, great vehicle no problems what's so ever. in one year I drove it 30K plus miles without a cough, everything works perfect without a defect. I love it and enjoy it it is my first Dodge.
I bought a 2006 Grand Caravan last year with 16000 miles on it. It was still covered under the original power-train warranty (very nice). The only issue we've had with it is the oxygen sensor, had to replace it. The stow and go seats are great, roomy for us and three kids. Gas mileage OK, but hey, it's a minivan for god's sake. This is my second Dodge and overall, not too bad - good power and pickup speed.
I own a 1999 Grand Caravan, purchased new. We are working now on 266,000 miles. Replaced the battery once, rear wheel hub assembly on both sides, air conditioner core at 200K, muffler and resonator at 250K, rear latch actuator. Most persistent repair has been replacement of the heater blower motor 3 times (which runs almost all the time the engine is on). No drive train work. I think I changed the spark plugs once. Never left me stranded anywhere, always starts. I hate to see the minor rust appearing around the rear wheel wells.
