I leased the vehicle with the intention of saving
money on fuel costs. when I first started calculating the fuel economy I was happy with 29-30
mpg in the city, but less than impressed with its power. I had to really race the engine in-order to get
it off the line. also occasionally it would stall
when I pushed the clutch in while making left turns
. then I had the emissions recall done which involves reflashing the pcm. now my fuel economy has dropped down to 25-26mpg it stalled once since
but the power has increased. I also have experienced some buzzing coming from the drivers
door which I believe is coming from the speaker.
I have also experienced issues with shifting gears
it will sometimes get caught on the shift gate.
I like the styling of the vehicle.
The car rides well.
My Caliber had the same stalling issue when depressing the clutch. Dodge said they were aware of the issue and working on a fix. After 2 months of waiting for this fix, I couldn't take it anymore and sold the car.
Yes, Dodge does have the fix for the stalling problem. Go to the website Caliberforumz. com & find the forum talking about 1.8 liter manual stallings. Several people having the same stalling problems have used the website's advice to get dealers to correct their situations. The motors are running well now. Some dealers just aren't familiar with the Caliber electronics yet.
