1991 Jeep Comanche Eliminator 4X4 from North America - Comments

"The best truck I will ever find. Ever.."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Rear main seal has a leak. Smells like oil after getting hot.

Speedometer sensor went out. Easy fix.

Broke out the window. Another easy fix with a used window from the local salvage yard.

Basic tune up components.

Headliner fell down. Covered it with fabric from Wal-Mart.

Typical jeep paint. The clearcoat on the roof and hood is just about compeletley gone.

A couple squeaks in the front end when I stop.

Brakes are kinda noisy, but it could be dust.

Temp gauge went out.

Gas gauge has never been accurate.

General comments?

I love this truck. It's fast for a truck. With 190 horsepower and 220 Ft. Lbs. of torque, it'll light up the rear tires. It's comfortable with buckets and a console. One of the most fun vehicles I've owned.

A little hard on gas at an average of 16 mpg. Oh, well.

4wd works great. I've only gotten stuck once in the nastiest mud. Ended up axle deep on a county road in February. Perfect for northwest winters.

I've added all of the factory Laredo trim to the interior and it looks great.

I've got a few dents the fix. The previous owner hit some things in reverse. I put a steel bumper on it to replace the stock one because of it.

I've got some wide offset steel wheels for it that look great. I plan on getting some bigger tires and a lift kit this spring for it.

The only other drawback it the fact that I can only take one person with me in it.

This truck can go anywhere, do anything, and look great doing it. Parts are cheap because of all the Cherokees around here in the salvage yards. Easy to work on, fun to drive. Reliable as ever. I hope to give this truck to my kids, if I can let go of it...

Fabulous review, I love my 4X4 Eliminator too.

Where do I get a new box or quarter panels?

They just don't make 'em anymore

I'm considering making an aluminium flat bed for it, but I don't wanna look like Jethro!
