1999 Chevrolet Blazer LX from North America - Comments

"I should have just thrown $30,000 out the window!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Gosh, I really don't know where to start.

I think the first thing was the three brake light switches. Two were replaced under warranty. Paid $192.00 for the third. Two weeks later got a recall letter on the part and Chevy would only reimburse $150.00 of the cost. Said that if a Chevy dealer replaced it, it would have only been $150.00. I tried to get an appointment and they couldn't get me in.

We have had the wheel bearings replaced three time on the front and two on the back.

Brakes and rotors replaced twice all around.

Gas gauge stayed on full for two years. Stopped after having fuel pump replaced.

Radiator replaced.

Tires replaced four times.

Headlights have gone out for long periods of times. No one can find out what's wrong. Never know when they're going to go out. Had to put fog lights on for when they go out.

Both front seat levers have broken off and the whole rod broke, so it would cost $150.00 each to replace.

Air conditioner has never worked properly. Does not blow cold air when setting in traffic. Replaced thermostat, compressor, had it drained and refilled still doesn't work.

Rear window wash and wiper out. Front wipers broke off and replaced.

Engine light stays on and can't find anything wrong. Started losing power and it's the catalyic converter.

General comments?

Vehicle is comfortable and attractive, but the mechanically it is a nightmare. We have spent about $8000.00 in repairs. Needless to say we just bought a 2007 Ford Mustang. Never another Chevy or GM vehicle for me. You think this might be why GM is about to lose the top spot as manufacturer to Toyota?

I have a 1999 Chevy Blazer. I have had to replace the front ball joints 3 times. I have replaced the tire rods, and now I was told that there is a leak around the intake manifold, and the antifreeze is leaking. I have replaced the thermostat twice, the fuel pump, and a new water pump. Is there any recourse?
