"Cheap transportation"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I have 3 Corsicas--all three have had to have alternator's replaced, ONE has a leaking heater core, being worked on today, and a ecm module that was very expensive--THE PAINT ON ALL THREE IS AWFUL---the 1st one I bought in 89, the paint started peeling in sheets in 1990 (the car was 2) and that one has been painted once, the other 4 cyl has been painted twice and is peeing again---THE BLUE, and GREY paint GM used in 88-89 is AWFUL--also seats cheap, and uncomfortable for a big guy-I'm 240, 5-11 and that drivers seat gives me a backache.

General comments?

ALRIGHT--as I said --I have 3 Corsica--so I must like them--I bought the 1st in 89 on a dare---somebody said "youll never buy a new car"--a friend had just bought a 88 Corsica--they had ordered theres brand new and paid 15k for it--well I found the exact same car (except mine is a 4cyl) 1 years old with HAIL damage (not noticeable) for 6995--so I bought it!! and sense then I have bought a 6 cyl auto and recently bought a 4 cyl auto (my 1st is a 5 spd) the "new' one is a one owner 35k miles (old lady deal) and the paint is peeing again---that would be the worst thing on these cars is the paint--but my 1st one (4 cyl 5 spd) has been a great car--it handles well, and gets great MPG, and in the almost 20 years--It has only broke down on me once (the ECM module) --I just like the cars---the 4 cyl auto is underpowered, and gets not so great MPG, the 6 cyl has PLENTY of power and has sport suspension (I think that's my FAVORITE) --anyhow these cars have been rode hard and put up wet, and have performed well--I mean they are not Mercedes--they are cheap, american, BASIC transportation--and I will buy any one I find in good shape--2 of mine have been demoted to "extra" cars--my kids and wife HATE them ---UGLY, AWFUL, GROSS, (my kids thoughts) --but hey--if I am paying for it---its my choice what they drive!!!

I know what you mean by rode hard and put up wet!!! I had an 88 my senior year in high school (1995) and me and my buddys and my wife (girlfriend then) used to take it down a country road and ramp it all the time!!! Got it about 2 feet off the ground once!!! Blew a head gasket, 2 trans missions, ignition module went out, you can't see that damn thing when you are taking it out, have to feel around for it. Didn't know what it was until I finally got it off the car. Finally blew the timing chain in it around 145k miles (2nd motor) That thing was a beast!!
