I have a 1992 ford explorer the transfer case will not engage the lights for the lock in will not even turn on will anyone who sees this email me at waterwoodlogs@hotmail.com if they think they can help.
Two things
the t-case is engaged and your hubs aren't (that's assuming you have auto hubs)
or your t-case is hooped - motor, chain and such.
If your light is coming on, this should mean the motor in the case has engaged, the sensor has picked this up and turned on the light.
How look to see if the front shaft is turning, there are a couple ways of doing this, lots can kill you. BE SAFE think about it.
If is not turning, its in the case
write back if it is
if it is turing, its in the front end
first check alxes, broken shaft or u-joint
make sure your diffs good
then hubs
remember lots of little parts and springs that's can jump allover
make sure they're clean, no broken parts
