The problem that keeps coming back is the faulty transmission on this car, it has been back in the shop 5 times since I bought it less than a year ago and this last time it was in there for almost a month while they stuck me with a Ford Aspire. They said it was a sensor that controls the transmission that is going out and they don't seem to know why it keeps going out on me.
The second thing is the rear brakes keep sticking or locking up on me, yet another problem they cant seem to figure out.
The last problem that bothers me is that the A/C is way too weak in hot weather.
I love this car, it's a great performer but I will NEVER buy another Ford because they treat their buyers badly.
Ouch.. Consult their regional manager, and if that doesn't help their attitude find a different dealer. Don't turn to GM...
Same thing that is happening to me right now! I have taken my car in four times and each time they tell me a different thing has gone wrong on the car, but yet the car will still stall out while driving down the road. They also said that there was a recall on the 2000 ZX2's, they had to replace the bolts on the frame of the car, yet, when I go around and look at all of the recall sites for this, not a one say anything close to this.
I will never buy another Ford, worst car I have ever bought and worst service I have ever received. I would much rather go back to my 1990 Toyota Corolla that has 225,000 miles on it. It's slow as hell now, but I have never had a problem with it and I know that it's safe!

I bought a 2000 escort last year it was brand new (the contract says) The dealership just put in a new transmission. The car only has 20,000 miles on it. I wondering what else is wrong with the car. I hope I find out before the warranty runs out. I 'll never buy another ford. I wish I had known about this website before I purchased it.

Gee, I made it to 62,000 before the transmission blew up on my 2000 ford escort. I guess I should feel lucky!!
