The check engine light came on 2 days after my 30 day warranty.
It would stay on for a couple of weeks and go off.
Then I would look up again and it would come back on.
Finally the transmission went out at 95,000 miles and come to find out, that was the reason for the engine light going on and off.
It cost me 18,338 to get the transmission rebuilt.
I am still paying for the car.
Then two weeks later the wheel bearing on the driver side brakes that was $287.00.
Three weeks before the transmission went out I had to get a complete brake job that cost me almost $500.00.
Now the check engine light has come back on for three weeks now. I give up!
The next car I get will be GM or Toyota.
I should of known better than to buy the car when the VIN wouldn't go through for the insurance and tag.
Come to find out the car was from Canada and Chrysler is the maker Dodge.
All 2nd Gen Dodge Intrepids were built in Canada at the Brampton, Ontario facility. Now, my friend, if you are only just finding out that Dodge is a Chrysler-owned brand then I really wonder if you should have bought the car in the first place. A motor vehicle is too big a purchase, and too dangerous a tool, to be taken as slight as buying a toaster. Now let me get this straight. The check-engine light comes on and you don't go to Pep Boys and get it checked out and consequently your transmission fails. You replace the transmission and now you have yet another check-engine light and you STILL have not gotten it checked out? My advice: buy a bicycle.
