2007 Nissan Altima 2.5S from North America - Comments

I love my 2006.. Not a single problem, paint is perfect, engine runs great, the dealer has been fantastic and Nissan Canada has treat me very well.. I am a nissan guy for life now!! Now if we only had the same luxory as you americans and could get $5 grand knocked off the price as our dollar is techically 'worth the same'.. But that's another rant =)

My Altima sedan is a dark blue metalic 2.5S with CVT and the key-less entry/ignation. I typically prefer sports cars as I still own a 1990 300ZX NA. This is my third Nissan product. Overall, I am very pleased with the cars performance. The engine is quite torquey and the CVT allows the car to leap out from a start. I am getting 28-30 MPG average which is quite respectable for a non-hybrid intermediate size car. I only have 2100 miles on it and yes, there is a knock coming from the engine. The highway handling exhibits a side to side swaying as if you were running different types of tires front and rear. The steering and brakes are too light (see 300ZX above) and I believe the the car has a bit too much road noise. I bought the car end of month (Nov.) and the dealer cut the advertised price $1K the very next week! Niggling aside, I still believe a made a good buy!

I purchased a 2008 Altima 2.5SL 3 months ago. We,ve put on 8500 miles since then and the car is flat out excellent. Great ride, handling and mileage. We haven't had problems with the paint, engine, transmission, electrical, or fit and finish. One tire seems to be wearing a bit crooked but that's it. To the person who asked for a car that is domestic and performs better, I'd say go to your Chevy dealer and check out the new Malibu. It's not better, but is just as good. Might want to go and test drive a Ford Fusion too. Both are very competitive. The Saturn Aura is a very nice car and worth trying out as well.

My 2007 nissan 2.5 altima is all over the road I notice side to side swaying on some roads, I took it back to the dealer and the said this was normal... NOT!!! never had a car do this before any one else had this happen to them???
