2000 Mazda B4000 SE cab plus from North America - Comments

I bought a 1999 B4000 new. It's a bull in the snow and a pleasure to drive but at around 50,000 2nd gear failed in the transmission and it would not shift. I have seen this problem described by other owners of this same vehicle. The Overdrive light also blinks on dash. At $3,500 I refused to replace the transmission that Mazda should be fixing. I figured how to shift it by bringing the vehicle up to 3 thousand RPM taking my foot off the gas and after a few seconds it shifts into a higher gear. I now have 80,000 miles on the truck and it runs good on close as well as far trips. I have had electrical problems as identified by other owners but it does not impact the driving of the vehicle.
