I own a fleet of three Cutlass SW (one 95 and two 96's) and every single solitary problem described in the above review I have also experienced. They were bought used (and incredibly well serviced, too) at low miles and converted to Taxi Cabs; yeah, I know that qualifies for severe service vehicle status, but all three have the same exact problems, very numerous, that I have never experienced from the older Chevy Celebrities and Caprices we used to run. Oldsmobile has a rep for reliability that I just don't buy into anymore, It's still a GM and it's going to have the same problems that the other lines suffer from, it's just that Olds as a line is supposed to be more prestigous than Chevy or Pontiac, but will someone tell me why I have to replace the brake pads every 7500 miles and the rotors every 15,000?

By the way, worst cab I ever drove- 90 Ford Taurus. Cost an average of 800 dollars a month in repairs to keep it on the road, and this was when it was two years old.

I owned a 93 Cutlass Supreme and overall it had a good life. Got it with 120k miles and retired it with 188k miles. Bought it for $700.

The only major repair that was made on the car was to fix the power steering hose and pump which was about $350 and other than regular maintenance, that was about it.

The timing chain went out which I had someone fix it but I'm not too sure they knew what they were doing. Immediately after I got the car back, the sound of the car came from quiet and smooth to ragged and loud, and it was VERY jumpy. Breaks barely worked as well, so I sold it to those people who buy junk cars.

Overall, they are reliable cars and are comfortable.

Getting a 96 Cutlass next week. Can't wait!
