To whom it may concern, I can buy a 2008 superduty or chevy or what ever is out there to buy and I can burn the cluch out in less than 5 minutes if I wanted or I can drive right and the original clutch can last me 400,000 miles and counting I know this because I have a powerstroke with 450,000 miles on it and I bought it brand new with 15 miles on it. only thing I had trouble with and everyone has had the same problem is a cam shaft sensor which ford has recalled with in the month of december of 2007 Before they put engines and trannys out in there vehicles for us to buy they do many test models to ensure it's capebilities!!! Sorry if that is spelled wrong, Then when they are done testing they take the results and they set the engines and trannies to produce what is safe (STOCK SETTINGS) To help prevent these problems a lot of people are having. So if you think you need more power from a f 250 or 350 then you might want to think about upgrading to a bigger truck with a bigger engine and bigger tranny. most problems that I have seen and I have seen a great deal over serveral years. Is if the owner does not understand how the truck operates and what it can handle then They need to KEEP THERE HANDS off!!! If you do think you know more than the guy's who build and designed the truck, Engine, and Trannies. And put in a chip then you deserve to have nothing, but problems. And you deserve to walk when it is in the shop being repaired. Also CHIPS DO NOTHING, but CAUSE TROUBLE BECAUSE FORD CHEVY AND DODGE ARE NOT MADE FOR CHIPS.!!! IF THEY WERE THEN THEY WOULD COME ALREADY INSTALLED IN THE (STOCK) TRUCKS. So to those of you that have chips if you keep it stock then you should not have near the trouble Also if you still have trouble then you need to go back to driver ed again or go back to walking till you can learn how to take care of a truck and drive it right. the old saying is true "If you take care of your truck then it will take care of you" And my advise is if you are hauling very heavy loads and you break springs and such then you need to invest in a dump truck or a semi!!! f250s and 350s are not semis they are mid sized for work trucks. I still have original Alternator, Batteries, Clutch, and the only thing that I have had trouble with is the camshaft as I said before. But I have had to do the useual MAINTENANCE to have it last. 450,000 miles and still going strong.!!! Good job ford you make great trucks.!!! And I will be back for another One when this one is wore out one day.
If you buy a ford and expect it to perform like a semi best bet would be buy a semi before you buy the ford. And if you like chevs better then you should buy a chev next time and stop crying over what problems you have had with ford. All truck makes are not made the same. buy what best fits you. just some friendly advise dodges are gutless but they are only made to look at.lol.
I have a 2000 F250 super duty 5.4 4x4. It sputters at certain speeds, but idles fine. Does anyone know what could cause this?
