Good evening to you all.
Yes I had a chance to test the 0-100 (0-60) of the auto Mark II tourer V (1994) briefly and I can tell you that the 1jz-gte motor is one serious piece of kit. When the rpms are low it drives like most sedate 2500cc salons, but when the twin turbos come into play the sound is very much an unreal experience and you are pushed back into your seat as this anonymous executive looking car turns into a extreme RWD Japanese monster, a Supra in a suit, a BMW M5 with reliability!!
Anyway to the times I could not time it with any measuring device, but I can tell you that it done it (0-100 kph/62mph!) in 5.5 SECONDS. Please note that traction control was on and grip was not satisfactory and I am a light driver (less than 60kgs), also the car on had very light modifications (as the gentlemen's agreement limits cars to 280hp (hp!) but this car can do 350hp with the most basic modifications) such as an after market exhaust among other modifications boosts performance by 50hp (model tested was around 325-335hp)!! the manual could easily improve this figure like for like. the 4 speed auto is very smooth and the kick down is something you have to experience because it is most impressive. The speed of the instant gear change when you want instant power delivery from the turbos when you want to go from Japanese executive to supercar maniac!!
The 1jz-gte engine was used in the mark II family (CRESTA CHASER mark II!) the
jza70 supra and the soarer and other cars produced for the Japanese market.
Other things to point out is that this car (manual jzx90mark II, cresta, chaser) weighs 1450KGs which is over 150kgs less than the 1jz-gte Toyota soarer (very popular in Australia/new Zealand and the UK). which makes the mark II family cars (jzx90) the lightest and fastest 1jz-gte cars in available Japan which is impressive for a 4 door car with huge boot!
Unless you play gran turismo 1,2, (think the tourer S is in 4) this car is almost unheard of outside of Japan. I think the jzx90 cars where only exported to Russia and the middle east which explains why you see these cars in Iraq on television.
To the above comment, about 5% of the mark II tourer Vs (fathers car is the literal translation) where manual so they sell for around 10-20% more than the autos for obvious reasons like drifting e.t.c. the mark II was sold as a up-market salon (like the BMW 5 series and the e class) sold to Japanese businessmen, but the lack of interest in this car for importers makes this car a real rarity, there are more eunos cosmos 20B in the UK than the Mark II Tourer V!!!.
My final words to you is if you can import one to your country you should seriously consider doing so as this sleek super salon leaves you feeling cold due to its extreme twin turbo performance an unreal car! Lastly what the reviewer said is true about spinning out. The rear-end (being RWD) is very easy to put into a slide even with traction control on and this 280hp monster can snap back out at you and put you into a spin if you mistreat it take my word for it this is one serious Car!!
This ultimate sleeper is a true compliment to Toyota!!!
My msn messenger address is jzx90@go.com please feel free to discus further about the Tourer V.
Thank you and good day my review should follow shortly!
Yes these are nice cars mine is jzx100 series 2.5vvti
single turbo silver 0-100km in about 6.2 seconds.
Anyone has the timing for the jzx90 mark ii grande 2.5 (A)??i want to find out the 0-100 kph timing.tq.
Hello mates.. I am about to buy a 2002 Mark2 turbo, JZX110 with 2.5ltr inline6 vvti dohc single turbo engine. I was surfing internet and found that this model goes 0-100km in 8.9 seconds? is it true? as I was expecting roughly 6.5seconds for this model? to be very frank I was disappointed. Can anyone tell me about its performance in details please. As I think for a 280BHP car 8.9seconds is slow..isn't it?Please do guide me, should I buy this car or go for other options where are Accord CL7 or Mercedez E230.
Regards.

I think stock 0-100km timing for mark2 turbo is 8.8seconds which is kinda disappointing for 1jz-gte...i do own 2003 jzx110 mark2 turbo and its way to slow compared to my other ride Mazda RX7 1996...comments please!
I have a 1995 Mark II and searching for a body kit I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on that.
"I think stock 0-100km timing for mark2 turbo is 8.8seconds"
Hi just to correct that, I think you'll find the 0-100km time for the stock (non-turbo) Toyota Mark II Tourer S is 8.8 seconds. For the stock (turbo) Toyota Mark II Tourer V it's usually given as 6.5 seconds.
Hi,
I've imported a Chaser JZX 100 & the times of 8.8 seconds for the auto trans is probably due to the traction control reducing engine power. Switch it off, then press trans mode to Pwr, & see if you can get the times of 6.0-6.5 seconds. Don't floor the throttle, but gradually feed the revs by briefly feathering it, then slowly floor it otherwise you will spin the rear wheels badly. My Chaser (Auto) puts out 194KW on a dynodyamics dyno (up from 152.6 KW total stock just by running an aftermarket ECU on 100 Octane, boost at 13psi, TRD panel filter in the factory airbox & changing the rear muffler only to a straight thru design. With a turbo-back exhaust & larger front mount 250KW is possible, but already, I've got enough power for now as the main thing is to learn how to control it & know what the vehicle can do or cannot do in various driving conditions.
I need your assistance.
I know this may not be the most appropriate forum, but I have searched the Internet far and wide and CANNOT find what I need - Front TEMS suspension for a 1996 3.0L Mark II Grande (JZX-91).
I am based in the Caribbean, and no-one (company) seems to offer these shocks anymore or I keep getting the wrong one. Most of the sites I find on the Net are American-based, and they don't even have Mark II's in their domestic market let alone parts for them.
I'm trying to source them directly from Japan, from a trustworthy site/source, at an affordable price.
Any chance you can help?
I'm currently in Japan and just purchased a 93' Mark II Tourer V automatic with full custom exhaust. I was just wondering where I can get an owners manual in English, preferably off the web, and approx. how much is the damage to send one back to the states.
Looking for information to order after-market accessories for a 1993 Mark II tourer V on line. Have found this to be a very difficult task. Any assistance on sites to check out would be great. please contact at bikkurimattsan@yahoo.com
I generally get my aftermarket parts from these places.

I have lived in Japan for about 8 years now... had a Corolla (POS) and a 1993 Nissan Skyline GTS-T. Prior to that I had a 1973 Chevy Impala, 1969 Dodge Charger W/383, a 1986 Mazda RX 7, a 1973 Dodge Challenger, 1995 Pontiac GTA, 1968 Plymouth Satellite, a 1970 Dodge Coronet w/383 and a 1997 Ford Explorer XLT V8. As you can tell... I love Cars/Trucks/Planes (I'm a mechanic) Motorcycles too (My wife won't let me have one) Anyways... I just bought a 1993 Toyota Mark II Tourer V...it's lowered with 18inch tires and wheels with a body kit... quite simply the best car I have ever owned!!! I have missed my '69 Charger and '70 Coronet, but I never imagined that I would fall in love with another car! I am back in the car game!!! I thought I would be a responsible adult and just commute to work... but the boss (wife)said I could buy something and this just appeared. It's the dark Metallic Green with huge rims. I love it!!! I used to hate driving, but I keep finding excuses to jump in and listen to the twin turbos kick in! I want to bring this back to the states with me... anybody know what's up with that?
I live in Suriname (South America) and I own a Mark 2 Grande for about a year now. It is a 2000 build with a 3.0 engine (2JZ-GE).Great performance and comfort. I really love this car. Only problem is that all manauls come in Japanese.
Can anyone help me find a English owners manual?
