Replying to that message, no you don't have to take out the whole dash justthe part at the very front to replace your magna speakers there is a bolt around under the dashboard and one on steering wheel side and a few clips. but becarefull because the speakers holes don't ahve any room under them due to your front window demister hoses (think thatswhat they are) and I am having trouble trying to make spacers without compramising the sound qualit of the speakers. I hvae a 1989 tp magna and I'm 17 years old about to get my p plates and its fuel injected and I've put white ROH mags and a Full Body kit that I got off a wreck and have never seen a body kit as good could any1 please prove me wrong. I have had a few problems with noises especially the timeing chain, but my 15 inch sony xplod woofer and the rest of me sound system eaisily overpowers that hehe. please add me on msn or email me anything about magna's especially performance upgrades- so hard to find mods for magnas of this age as all of you alrady mustknow please email with me with anyting about magna's.and yes I no the email addy is quite odd ---- supra_owns@hotmail.com
thanx.
Thanks to everybody who posted helpful/entertaining comments and to the guy who wrote the great original review. I'm also 17 and (in Melbourne) I am hopefully buying a 86 Magna tm glx for a couple of hundred bucks. Yeah, I know, its the carbie model (I ride dirbikes so I'm used to carbies) but its manual (don't like autos one bit, but its hard to find manuals).
My mates dad owned one for about 15 years, amazing value cars and economical compared to the oversized 4-odd litre ford/holden's that everyone drives these days.
Anyway, thanks again for all the help.
Cheers and take it easy.
G'day.
I'm 16 years old and a few months back I bought a TM GLX EFI auto made in 1987 in Adelaide for $300. In the next few months I will start driving it more regularly as I will have my P's, but for now it seems to run well except the engine mounts have sagged a bit. I have checked the hoses and that all seems fine, but is there anything else I should check? its 230 000kmh on the clock.
Cheers
