HI EVERYBODY, I HAVE MY 1994 CHEVY BLAZER PROBLEMS ALSO I HAVE REPLACED MY FUEL RAIL,2 FUEL PUMPS THE 2ND ONE BURNT THE WIRING UP TO THE PUMP LUCKILY I'm STILL HERE. ALSO MY TRANSMISSION WAS RESEALED AT 110,000 I replaced 1 window motor,2 sets of ball joints,1 water pump my body is bad under the paint I have had the switches replaced for the 4 wheel drive unit now last night the first real snow comes and my encoder motor goes out. the encoder motor I located under the drivers side door I has one long bolt holding the wiring plug on the 3 10mm bolts hold that onto the transfer case, you will probably have to drop the drive shaft down to remove this. my second problem with the 4 wheel drive was the computer that signals the encoder motor the wires were plugged into it, but one wasn't making a good contact THE FIX pull the plug out and reconnect it. anyone need any help please email me at donsfast@yahoo.com.
I also have a 1994 Blazer, and like most of the comments I have seen here, I am having trouble with the EGR valve. It has been replaced twice in the past year. It is now giving me trouble again. When taking off and cleaning, it only seems to last about a month and then it has to be replaced. There must be a way to correct this problem or at least some way to make this valve last longer. I to have heard about this screen. Can anyone out there help with info on this? Please E-Mail me Qsue333@aol.com.
I truly love my 94 S-10 Blazer, just scared to drive it. After a cruise down the highway (1/2 hour or more) when I exit, I have no power. It's like the transmission didn't downshift when I slowed down - kind of like starting out in 3rd gear. I have replaced the fuel injector (solved a different problem), a bunch of sensors, the heater core, and I disconnected the ABS the first week I had it because I hated the ABS (no big deal). I just can't seem to figure this out! Someone suggested unplugging the torque converter, but that makes it refuse to motivate in a forward direction, while reverse still works. Fluid levels are fine, transmission flush and filter change didn't make any difference (not excessive shavings in the pan). I really want to keep this vehicle on the road for at least two more years. Any suggestions? I would really appreciate some advice on this. tingram@metrocast.net.
The problem is that most of you people pay these DEALERSHIPS for the parts! WOW! Aftermarket parts stores sell the same, if not higher quality, parts as the dealerships do! I can't believe what some of you pay for these EGR valves, just for example. I've picked them up brand new for less than 100 bucks. Perhaps learn to do some of your own auto repair. I don't feel sorry for those that refuse to learn. The auto repair industry makes a royal killing off of a lot of the people that write reviews on this site. EGR valves, brakes, and other similar items are all things you can do in your driveway. Do yourselves a favor, save some money, pick up a repair manual and attempt some of these repairs yourself.
I have a 93 tahoe package, boy is it fun. Chevy was smart to make these rigs so loveable, yet so costly. I've replaced it all, EGR, IAC, Knock sensors, well, pretty much all the sensors. My tranny burnt out at 114,000, electrical problems are quite entertaining (Shorts, Window motors having a mind of their own, I can only operate push button 4x4 with the headlights on) But I love her! I won't let go. The funny thing is, my grandfather bought the thing new in 93, when he passed away, my dad paid it off and had it until 104,000, and up until that point it was maintained insanely well. Then everything went haywire! Now with 130,000, I'm halfway to having this ol' girl running poorly!! :) Good Luck, and Keep Strong!
Hey, that all sounds about right! My '94 S-10 is a treat, bought it with 80,000 and now have nearly 170K. A short list of replaced parts, brakes X 2, battery x 2, alternator, fuel pump and lines, water pump, thermostatic fan clutch, ball joints, power window motors, AC problems (vacuum leak and recharge), tailgate/window latch, rear window defrost. Heater core is about to die... just in time for winter. Found my first leak yesterday, I think transmission fluid? Seems to be a money pit, but at this stage in the game I'm in too deep! A quick comment regarding the squeaky rear window/tailgate combination. I replaced the latch on the window only to have it start squeaking again in a week. Try a little duct tape or electrical tape around the latch... a couple wraps will do. Seems to keep it from squeaking for up to a month or so. Regarding the ERG valve... I guess I've been lucky. No problems there!
I have a 1994 S-10 Blazer that currently will not start. As I was driving it died at a red light, I got it started again and continued driving. I parked for 10 minutes. When I came back out to start it the engine would not turn over. I tried to start for about 5 minutes, then I smelt something burning and didn't know what it was. I let it the engine cool down and tried to start it again and it did. As I was driving at 35 MPH the service light came on the it died. I have no idea what is wrong. Please help me if you know how to fix this problem.
There is wires that come out of the intake for your injection. pull the wires tight and that will solve your problems temporaly. it's a sensor in the intake that is not getting a good connection. I had the same problem on mine and no shop could diagnose it becuse the check engin light would not stay on.
I bought a 1994 jimmy pretty clean for Chicago drove fine all the way home. But the next day I tried to start it, it would not. Long story short I changed the spark plugs because the old ones end up being full of gas. The guy I got it from said he never had that problem, but you know how that goes. Can anyone help. email mac1976@sbcglobal.net
I have a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer...white...the outside body, paint, inside seats and all are in near perfect condition. I have 97,000 miles on it. It is a four door, 4-wheel drive.
I have had to have a new fuel pump, but nothing major since. Now, it is having problems. The bushings need to be replaced. I had lower left hand and lower right hand ball joints replaced, new brake pads and idler arm replaced last week. Drove it a few days, then it started jerking. Had it towed and emission control is messed up. The radio does not come on... This blazer has been a great vehicle It is costing me plenty to get it running again. Maybe it is time to let it go.
Got a 1993 S-10 Blazer, auto, 4X4 - one fuel pump, twice cleaning the EGR valve, new ign modle, coil, one pw motor - has a vacuum leak in instrument panel (no cruise), AC either needs servicing or a new compressor - all this and 262,000 miles - body and interior are excellent - needs a new fuel pump now!!! All of the above in the last 15 months!!
I Have a 1994 Blazer Tahoe LT, when driving it for about a half hour on the freeway a grinding sound starts followed by a whining noise that decreases when I pull over to the shoulder of the road and then stop the vehicle. After the stop I drive away and the noise does not come back until another half hour of driving. Any help would be great.

I have a 94' Chevy blazer and the heater core is shot. Leaked all through my lower vents. I just bought a new one, from the auto parts store, (like $22). But I do not know how to get to, and remove the old one. If anyone could write me and give me a general idea of how to get the dash apart and get the old one out. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks (bernardo0690@yahoo.com)
I have a 94 s-10 blazer whose four wheel drive is no longer functioning. At about 30 miles per hour I can press the 4hi button and I will hear a relay click. A few seconds I will hear a slight clunk sounding like the hubs are being locked in. how ever when I drive up my drive way which is on a hill with snow on it I fish tail up the whole way. Never used to be like this. Any ideas on what the problem could be or even an explanation on how the 4 wheel drive system works would be very helpful. I would like to get some input before I decide to repair it my self or pay someone to do it. Thanks.
OK we have a 94 S-10 Blazer with the 4.3 Vortex air the hole nine, the problem we’re having is gas mileage (10 per gal.), I have changed all cap/rotor/wires/plug etc.. But when you give it the light touch on the gas to go it doesn’t want to go acts as if its running out of gas, flutters/bog down till you give more gas and once she picks up your good. Any input would be helpful.. Also the 4 wheel will not work, worked fine, but then I turned it off now it doesn’t light up when I push the button for 4 wheel drive or go into 4 wheel? Any input would be great. martywholikestoparty@yahoo.com.
