I've now owned my 1991 black 5 speed Stealth RT 1 year, and the only thing I've ever had to get fixed was the clutch that went out on me; it cost $800.00 but was worth it. 166,000 miles and counting on a used Dodge Stealth that I bought from EBAY for $1525.00; the 2nd best car I've ever owned. Oldsmobile comes in 1st for reliability, and they aren't made anymore. I admit I took a chance when I bought it used, but they are built rock solid, and don't let anyone tell you any different. (I am tired of getting looks by dudes all the time, but I realize it's a hot car).

Your problem is more than likely the ECU. I seriously doubt it is the ground wire. The 1st gen. Stealth ECUs were anything but bulletproof. The caps leak and start screwing with you. Get it rebuilt or replaced (I would say rebuilt because a new ECU costs... a lot...)

To all those drivers who trash Japanese people, understand the fact that this car is an import/domestic collaboration. One of the most respected cars in the Japanese performance categories is the 3000GT VR4. Which is the equivalent of the Stealth RT/TT. This car is the prime example of 2 worlds coming together to make a great car. If you put your differences aside, look what you get.

Toyota Matrix/Pontiac Vibe

Toyota Corolla/Chevy Prizm

Subaru Legacy WRX/Saab 93x

Mitsubishi Mirage/Dodge Colt

Mitsubishi 3000GT/Dodge Stealth

Suzuki Sidekick/Chevy Tracker
