I have an 1982 Dodge Van with a 225 slant six. It runs well (though pretty slow uphill) - I noticed that on longer trips - 2 hours and more of highway driving (50 - 60 mph) the engine starts making a ticking noise that increases / decreases with engine speed. I usually pull over at the next gas station and let it rest for 10 - 15 minutes and then it's fine again until next time. What could that ticking noise be? Does anybody know? Apart from that ticking I have to say: That slant six is a real work horse and just keeps going and going...

Email me at chris.abel@gmx.net if you have any idea about the ticking...

I have a bright blue mettalic 1977 Dodge Tradesman B200 Van that has been in the family for about 6 years. I'm getting ready to hit 300,00 miles on it. The engine and transmission were replaced in '99, which came out of a '76. I've got a 318 V8, 2-barrel Carter carb, 3-speed automatic transmission. It's a long body with lots of windows, rear bench seat whichs turns into a very comfortable bed, two captains chairs up front, cabinets and paneling throughout. An older lady just hit me hard almost head-on acouple of weeks ago. It was her fault. Her insurance company gave me--get this--just over 3,000 dollars for it, plus I got to keep the van. I just refused to let them have it. It has been an absolutely great van. I've had a few electrical problems with it, but have since completely rewired it myself. It was pretty simple. I am currently looking for front end body parts for it now. I could sure use some help from anybody out there. Basically, I need a front chrome bumper assembly, right front fender, hood, front core support, headlight basket, turn signals, and possibly a grille. You can just imagine how ticked off I was when she pulled out in front of me. If somebody has a complete van, I would be interested, especially if it has a 360 or larger engine with a 4-speed auto transmission in it. Mine just doesn't have the power that I am looking for.

If anybody can help me, please email me at.

I got my 1977 Dodge B200 from a friend because I didn't have a car at the time. I love this thing even though it's expensive to fill the tank.

I just recently put up some "one time use" track lighting in the back and surround sound Bose speakers with a DVD player and a game cube. It's also got a 10in TV which all runs on a 750watt Black & Decker power inverter. But I'm running it off of a second battery that I keep behind my drivers seat and it's between the driver seat and the couch.

I am really happy with this van. It's a huge amount of fun and it runs so well for it's age.

I think the rear seal is starting to leak. And when I was driving into Dallas with my three friends in the back the other night it starting smoking. But that was only when I gave it a bunch of gas while going about 70mph. So I guess that I shouldn't go 70mph and give it so much gas.

The only problem that I realy need to fix on it is the power steering pump. It's leaking fluid and it leaks pretty fast. So I've been having to replace the fluid.

The front right calliper was locking up on it too, but I replaced that about a month ago. And the master cylinder's seal was leaking so I had to replace that. And the windshield wipers broke so I used a small piece of chain link to clasp the bar back on the arm. And I had to replace the bearings in the front because it was ridiculously loud and annoying to drive.

But I love this van!

I own a 1977 Dodge Tradesman. I just recently got this from my Dad who bought it new. He had no trouble to speak of the whole time he owned it, but then it was parked for about a year.

I decided to restore it, and have run into all kinds of electrical problems, starting with a fire behind the instrument panel with the two wires coming from the alternator.

Since then I have not been able to get power to anything in the van. Other than a new wiring harness, I have replaced every other part I can think of that could be bad, and traced wires from one end to the other.

If anyone has had anything similar happen to them, or might know what is wrong please let me know.

I have a 1977 Dodge B-300 Maxi-van, 360ci eng, 2 hole carb.

727 Torqeflite trans, I've had it about 10 years, it now has

about 275,000 miles on the 3rd, eng. QUESTION- when you open

the hood, and look at the windshield wiper motor, directly next

to it, on the drivers side is a small metal box, 2-1/2"x3"x3/4

in. With one inline plug with 3 small round pin terminals, and

only one mounting hole. It almost looks like a small alternator

voltage reg. But it isn't. This is a Calif. van, is it part of

the smog system? What does it do? anyone? please e-mail me at.

I have a 1977 tradesman 200 shorty (no windows, single rear door) for sale. It has 60 original thousand miles, 3 speed manual, 318, all original including the sheet metal. It was rust proofed when new so it only has 1 rot hole the size of a baseball on the rocker just behind the drivers door. It has been in storage for 16 years. The last 4 have been outside under a tarp. It will need some work, but will be an easy restoration progect. If interested write me and I will give you the whole story. The van is located in Suffolk County Long Island.

Hi. I have a 77 Plymouth Sport Voyager 16 ft bus. It's 3/4 ton, with a 318 3 speed auto. It was used for church many moons ago. I found it in the paper for 600 and called and talked to him about selling for 500, which he did cause it had been sitting for 9 months.

I'm 24 and can say this beast is a wonderful ride. It's 2 tone brown and yellow. It has 84000 original miles on it. It had 76000 when I bought it.

It was in bad shape as far as tires go, and tune up. I put 9.75-16.5 tires where the factory calls for 8.75. I like the bigger tires as it is more stable.

Anyways, this behemoth is now my daily driver. The only problems I have had are eletrical, and master cylinder. Other than that, I can honestly say I would choose it over any vehicle. Even Mercedes Benz.

Does anyone have any idea where I can find a '70 thru '77 Tradesman cargo shorty van? No windows, side or rear. Engine/trans doesn't matter if it's there. Kinda looking for a good solid body and chassis. Running would be a plus! Have cash. Please email me at fiddysixeffie@aol.com. Thank you.

Hello...I'm about to purchase a '77 Shorty B200 Surfer van, all original. It has diamond tuck inside and a mural on the side, of the ocean, waves and all. I had a 68 Sundial camper van (Dodge) back in the day, same color as this one, kind of a soft yellow. Does anyone know if Dodge put these babies out from the factory in '77? I can't wait to get it, it's a 360 with a 727 automatic. Thanks. Email Gene at GENE3044@EARTHLINK.NET.
