A Camaro with a 2.8 V6 beating most 302's. This guy with half an engine doesn't what a muscle car is. That statement is silly. Does he know that his 2.8 V6 does 0-60 in 12 seconds, how funny. Even my winter beater, a Buick with a

3800 V6 with 170HP could easily smoke his V6 Camaro.

Here is a useful link to check out the 0 to 60 and quarter-mile times of your favorite ride even if it is a Chevrolet or Ford. Lets hear it for Mopar...yeeaaahhhhh!

I am a proud Canadian owner of a 1985 camaro Z-28 with 1545oo KMs. It has a 305 c.i., automatic tranny, Holly 4-barrel carb, an Edelbrock manifold and a performance cam. Nothing else special on it. This car will take out anything in its class, bar none! And boy does it rumble nice at the line and awfully impressive when that Holly opens up. Sweet car and gets a lot of admiring looks.

I am going to purchase an iroc-z28, 87 model, and these comments really helped with the decision. I can't wait to smoke those mustangs. So to all who made a comment, thanks!

Hahaha, first let me say that I love Z28's, Trans Am's and

Mustang GT's. The person from Canada that thinks his 305 TPI

with 170HP could take on any V8 powered Mustang is hilarious.

If he had the 350 with 225-250HP then it would be a close race. The only way he's going to find out how slow his car is is when he loses in a race!

To the HAHAHA fella: I guess you missed the carb, manifold and cam. Oh well, it would make a great race. Sorry, but the 350 would be no match- been there-done that. I've driven them, even with the LT-1 engine (1989) which I didn't buy thankfully. I'm telling you this car moves like no other!!!

Quick addition to hahaha: I remind you also that my class of car is a 305 cubic inch. I wasn't comparing the performance to a V-8. Respectfully submitted. The Canuck.

To the fellow canuck, your 305 c. i engine IS a V8! And is

out powered the the 5.7 litre, 350 c.i. engine.

Dear hahaha; I don't know where the confusion came in however let me reiterate. My li'l chevy camaro (1985) has a 305 cu. in. V-8 engine. It is stock, but has a Holly 4-barrel carb, an Edelbrock manifold and a performance cam. I would put it up against any car in the same class i.e. 305c.i.and an automatic tranny (it's too bad it's not a 4-speed however) and would be ahead of most others at the finish line!!!Respectfully submitted by Da Canuck.

It ISN'T STOCK if you have added after market performance parts. Look at the stock performance numbers above and you'll see which car was consistently faster up to '93... Mustang!!! And now that the Camaro is DEAD the Mustang shall rule forever!! Wait until the Shelby takes on the Z06 next year!! Camaro? What Camaro?

The only reason mustang hangs in there is because of slick marketing and a lot of glitter advertising and nostalgic goop. The camaro was a MAN's car and that's the reason it went DEAD was because men have lost a lot of their manhood INCLUDING the Camaro!!! We just let it slip by without even a blink. The only people driving the new mustangs are old guys trying to recapture their youth like the guy in the A+W commercial, who by the way seems to have 'caved in' to his wife in that 30second loss of manhood after his restoration project. The numbers are there re: mustang performance, but the tide turns on street performace or on the drag strip. Respectfully submitted by the Canuck.

The point is that the Mustang DOES continue to hang in there. I don't care how they've done it, but it is still among the living! I don't get your point on the street racing tide turning thing. I have yet to see any stock Camaro best the Cobra's 4.5 0-60 time EVER. As far as the strip is concerened, most run highly modified cars so it is all up to what you wanna spend on your car. Mustangs and Camaros are easily modified to produce extremely good racing results. My point is on the stock versus stock performance numbers up until the Camaro used a slightly detuned Vette engine starting in '93 and up. The funny thing was that even when the Mustang was slower they were outselling the Camaro/ Firebird 3 to 1! I guess good marketing really does work.

I would like to respectfully correct the fellow canuck.

Camaro Z28's and Firebird Trans Am's are a man's car. Don't mistaken the V6 camaro's and V6 Firebirds to be cars for men

because they aren't't. These V6 versions are for women. Also may be for men who think they are macho in a 2.8 liter 115 HP V6 "muscle car' until they find out no one shows them any respect.
