I own a 2003 2.0 Dynamique, see other post. Have now owned for 9 months and would normally be looking for something else by now. Not so with the Avantime, still feels different everytime I get in.

Had a problem with the passenger seat mechanism which has been dealt with 3 times by dealer, but all under warranty. The roof lining at the back annoyingly falls a couple of inches as per someone elses experience, but all cars have niggles. Everything else is fine and I have now done over 10,000 miles.

The car was a bargain at £13k with 22k on the clock. Still has over 1 year of warranty left. The local dealer Bromcrosscars. com (not Renault) has another one (2002 Dynamique) for £11,295. He really likes them and said he would keep looking for another one when I bought mine!

The kids can't wait for the summer to put all the windows down.

As for tyres, not sure what other postee has bought (at £200 a pop) but the VR rated 17" Falkens I bought for £70 each have certainly done the trick.

Auto Express listed it as top of their list of 10 future classics last year! I think I will have this car for some time.

Hi cd player yes, mine stopped excepting 'new' cds after 11 months? the fault was fixed (new one) but was told that if one 'removes the cd for any reason and turns it very slightly on its side or over, this will damage the unit, seems when they fit them theres a 'transport' device that has to be removed when fitted into the dash, this must be refitted before removall.

First saw the Avantime in the Renault Paris showroom when it first came out. I thought then it was a great car, but I didn't follow up at the time. I saw one in Australia whilst on holiday there and this resurrected my interest. When I got home, I found a V6 Auto model locally and couldn't resist it. It has everything on it and (cross fingers) everything works. I'll need some tyres in the not too distant future, and with the Pilots being so expensive, Avons look promising. It's an absolutely unique car and it's styling cues can now be seen in many of its Renault offspring. I have a small "fleet" - Honda Beat, Civic Type "R", Jag Sovereign V8 - and now the Avantime, which will come in very useful on photographic shoots (big seat and big sunroof - for height).

I have had my Avantime for nearly 2 years and have just done 57000 miles. I love the car to bits it makes me smile every time I drive it and I still love watching peoples faces as I go past them!

I have a few problems all sorted by Renault. Faulty CD player

Faulty wing mirrors, worn boot seal, broken storage bin and a creaky roof (this still creaks!)

I have a Citroen CX Prestige and am also after a DS and then I will have by 3 favorite french cars of all time in my drive!

I'm just in the process of buying an Avantime, and can't wait to get my paws on it. They truly are iconic. I love it to bits already but would just like to know how easy it is to obtain spare parts, in particular the interior door trims and sill guards. regards Denise
