I just recently purchased my 2002 LSE and couldn't be happier. This is the type of vehicle I've always wanted to drive, but could never afford new. At the time of purchase it had 72,000 miles on it, but looks and drives like brand new! I guess it was a lucky find.
I live in a rural area, and get what I would consider to be good mileage as well, averaging 20.2 mpg according to the computer. Yeah, paying for premium hurts a bit, but as fun as this car is to drive I think it's worth it.
Bottom line?
I love this car.
Hey all, I am in love with the drive and looks of the 02 Lincoln LS. I am having some small problems with starting the car (cranks for 5-6 seconds before turning over), but all in all it is very nice.
Hey Yo! I just purchased an 04 LS V8. This car is sooo under-rated and un-appreciated. I like the power, looks, and handling on this car. A true gem by Ford.
One of the added benefits of purchasing a used Lincoln, is that it was probably driven by some old lady who took it in for its regularly scheduled oil changes and what-not, and more than likely, it was not bagged on daily, like a Mustang or Bimmer perhaps.
For 50 grand new (cdn), most speed junkies were buying Mustangs, BMWs, and Japanese imports, so your chances of finding a very well taken care of LS are high.
The 03 and up have 280 horses under the hood and they love to be set free. Great brakes too. Buy one, you won't regret it.
To the poster asking about how the Lincoln Ls handles in the snow...Well, lets just say it doesn't do well at all. I call my LS my fair weather friend. You have to kick it way down to low gear to get relatively anywhere. The first year I found myself stuck a couple of times. Other than that... I love my LS.
