Ian

if you've got the old brake shoes you can take them in to be re-lined.

Brake hoses, you could try powertrack (http://www.powertrackbrakes.co.uk/index.html) who I've found very helpful in the past, he should definitely be able to help you out.

By the way, what sort of walk thru have you got and where are you based?

Hi there folks,i would first like to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about myself. my names martin I'm 36 years old and I live in Coventry, all my life as far back as I can remember I've had a love for old classic cars,I've also owned quite a few, sometimes two or three at a time, (MUCH TO MY PARTNERS DISSAPROVAL) but most of all I've always had a Hugh love for the good old comer pa and pb models it doesn't matter which type van pickup camper you name it I love them. which is why I'm writing to you guys, now if you are a serious comer lover like me then you will know how difficult it is to find replacement panels for these old girls. (RIGHT OR WRONG) the old answer would have been right, but now days the new answer will be (hurray) for the woolfman, that's me of course. because I've done something about it, I'm not going to sit back and watch these old girls fall into extinction, which is why my company has gone into this at full steam and can now offer you any panel you may require from the lower side panels where the jacking points go through.or maybe you require the side sill panels, you know the ones with the flute lines that run through them the holy grail as they are know as. well we can make you any of them, because we have used originals to recreate them down to a t. (NOW I NO WHAT YOUR THINKING OH YEH, but IF YOU Don't BELIVE ME, THEN HAVE A LOOK ON EBAY UNDER THE CLASSIC CAR SECTION UNDER COMER PARTS AND YOU WILL SEE BEFORE YOUR VERY EYES THE HOLY GRAIL PARTS.I've just started to list them in the last few days. but honestly we can make you almost any panel again for these old girls and if we can't we can at least make you repair panels for them (egg.lower door bottom repir panels with the flute lines I might add,or the front door side sills we can even make you some inner sills, or maybe you need the front lower valence panels, now I know your going to need some kind of panel because if your vans like mine then thers going to be rust. so come on stop foaming at the mouth and pass the message on to all you friends and followers alike and take a look on abay. you know it makes sense. if you like you can call me on 07941906259 or 02476 758814 to have a chat or email me at, woolfman100@ntlworld.com.if you need any info, well I've probably bored you enough now so I'm going to sign off and leave you in peace brothers, but can I here you all say hurray for the woolfman. see you soon.

I have just purchased a 1982 commer pb. This is the first camper van I have owned and I am very pleased with it. I went to put some fuel in the vehicle the yesterday for the first time and the fuel will not go into the tank properly. The fuel does not seem to run down into the fuel tank and just stays at the filler cap. I fueled up as much as I could about £10, drove 20 miles and then undid the fuel filler cap and the fuel was still up to the lip. The fuel gauge is only reading a quarter of a tank. Any ideas??? The fuel tank was replaced recently.

Thanks

Rich.

Hi Rich here again, I have not heard from anyone about the problem above.

Another problem I am having is that I am in need of a barrel lock for the rear doors. Does anyone have a clue where I can get one of these or anything that will replace it.

Thanks

Rich.

Hi.

I am looking to buy an old yellow British Telecom Dodge Spacevan. When I was a child my father bought one for the family to up sticks and move to Spain (which we did and drove around in for 2 years). We eventually drove it back to England as well. I was searching for the original, but proving far too difficult so if anyone knows whether these bad boys are still in existence please leave me a note and I will carry on my search. I have a dream that one day I will be able to buy the exact one and drive it to my Mum and Dads and maybe try and do the trip all over again...

Thanks Juan.

I have a 1973 coachbuilt Commer and would like to completely modernise the braking system with something a lot newer, with easier part finding in the future; hopefully something like a Sierra/Mondeo etc.. Has anyone done this, what did they use and what problems have they incurred???

If you haven't joined already go to http://forum.commervanfan.co.uk there are a good many modernisations have taken place by different members.

The easiest brake upgrade would be to add a remote brake servo - there is a universal kit highly recommended in the press available from www.ratsport.co.uk.

I will be using this kit as part of a much larger modernisation including rear axle, engine and gearbox.
