Tubi is an aftermarket sports exhaust system. I have one on my 348 spider and it makes a fantastic noise. Highly recommended addition. I fitted mine after the original system disintegrated. Cost about £1,500. ($3000).

Decat is the removal of the catalytic converters which simply adds to the noise. You won't get an MOT in the UK without these because of the emission laws. I had to have both of mine replaced when I did the exhaust. Another £600 each!

Also just had to have the spigot bearings replaced as they were getting very noisy. Originally thought it was the clutch thrust release bearing. Alas not!

Look after the gearbox - if anything goes wrong it's an engine out job. Clutch is an easy job but talk to the mechanic. A thrust bearing will only cost £8 ($16) but if you buy from Ferrari it'll cost you £250 ($500) and it's exactly the same part!!

Same story with the clutch pressure plate.

My roof also leaks a bit.

I've also had the drivers side door trim fall off more times than I care to remember!

Performance wise it's an amazing machine. I've had it flat out on the M5 and got 6 points and a serious fine as a result. Worth every penny. Even the copper said it sounded awesome and he only caught up because I slowed down!

I've spun it twice; it is very twitchy. You need to know how to drive these things. After all it's a pure Ferrari!

Looks wise I personally think it's the best looking of all the Ferrari's to date. I chose mine over a 355. It's red with cream hide. In my opinion the only choice.

I drove it every day the first year I had it. It then cost me £7,000 ($14,000) to service. But then I did put nearly 15,000 miles on it.

I now only drive it at the weekends and garage it all winter.

The first drive of the year is guaranteed to pucker up your sphincter! What a rush!

I've now had the car for about 7 years and I still love it.

Would I recommend it - HELL YES!

If anyone is thinking about a 348 then I fully recommend it. Having just purchased one about a month ago after searching for 6 months I have never been happier (even if I have spotted a smallish drop of oil in the garage after coming back off holiday)

The 993 I had before rattled less and never went wrong, felt just as quick but couldn't produce the grin factor of the 348.

Would also like to thank people and their comments which helped.
