I have the same issue. I have a 97 Ford F150 and the wipers, dome lights, door ajar lamp, and bed lights randomly come on.
Has anyone found a resolution?
I haven't tried the lube suggestion above yet. If so can you email me at bjh1531@njit.edu with the solution.

Wow - thanks for all the info on the Door Ajar and Dome Light issue. I just "inherited" a 1995 Ranger from my Number 2 son and it has been possessed with this issue since shortly after we bought it for him. We in fact nicknamed the truck "Christine" since it seemed to be haunted. Quick search on Google got me here and after reading through all your comments decided to run right out and try the Spray Silicone trick in the door latches and switches - IT WORKED!!
