Does anyone know the exact problem under the 2003-2004 350Z tire wear problems?
I heard that the front suspension and toe angle may be the problem. In fact, once adjust (toe angle), the tire wear keeps showing off.
So I was wondering if any person had technical information (about an unproper design etc.) that could explain this malfunction.
Thanks.
Tire Replacement Issue October/2003 to September/2006 September 19/06.
1. Dec 27/03 15 500 km (approx. 10 000 miles) on new tires - front tires replaced (this wasn’t easy to convince them they just wanted to follow the TSB) and front-end alignment. Reason given for tire feathering/cupping: vehicle came out of the factory misaligned.
2. October 13/04 14 200 km on second set of tires - front tires replaced and front-end alignment. Reason given for tire feathering/cupping: Alignment problem, but I was told Nissan had come up with new alignment specifications, which would correct the problem.
3. September 09/06 Mileage to date on third set Bridgestone tires approximately 13 100 km.
The tires are already as bad as the first two sets. Reason given for tire wear: none given. Warranty has expired and the service manager says he can’t do anything for me. He says he doesn’t even know what is causing the problem so he couldn’t fix it even he could. Nissan has refused to deal with me and has closed my file.
I have a 350Z 2003 as well. I do not drive much and therefore, the tire problems came a littel late, but just in time for me to report the tier problem to Nissan manufacture. Let me start by informing everyone tha I put a down payment on my car January 2003, during my research, I recently discovered that Nissan had put out a service bulletin that same month ( no one mentioned it to me).
I took delivery of my car in the month of April 2003 inwhich another service bulletin was put out for the tier problem.
Since then I have been in contact Nissan to resolve this problem. I am convinced that it is a front supspenssion issue. My car has 17,700 miles on it, still has the new sent inside and three set of tiers. That's right I am on my third set of tires. I wrote the Attorney General, my Congressman, my Senator, the Federal Trade Commission, Federal Higyway & safety and Nissan. My advice would be for you to do the same. According to the Federal Trade Commission, the issue must be resolved if the problem was reported before your warranty expired. But you issue would be with Nissan not the dealership. Our legislators must be informed about the hadzards of this car. Personally I do not trust the car anymore and I love my Z, but I love my
family too. Current I am persuing arrbritration via the Attorny General in Maryland. If you should write you Attorny General's Office, cc a copy to of your complaint to the Baltimore, Maryland branch before my hearing. That could help me out. That's what we have to do, band together and help help each other out. if someone you know has the same problem in your home town support one another by being a witness for each other at hearings, ect. We paid to much money for these cars, not to mention the safety factor and I am certain there is one here.
Good Luck.
Yes it is a camber issue, the lower A arms have no camber adjustment (there fixed). But, Stillen & another after market place make adjustable lower a arms for the z. Rangeing from 4 to 800 dollars for a set. Also they make camber bushing for the z that allows them to adjust the camber were the struts mount (price for those, 40 dollars each. Good luck people, Larry J Olympia Washington.
I own a 2006 350 z. I bought it new in february 2006. Now at 16k my front tires are cupped * feathered on the inside. Nissan has been doing the alignment, I have kept the tires at 35 psi always. The dealer refuses to replace my tires, and will not replace my cracked leather seat. I will not buy Nissan again.

I recently purchased a 2004 Nissan 350z with 23,000 miles and after only 3 months - 6k miles I have already had to get the tires replaced and the front wheel aligned. 3 Months later the wheels started making the same noises they had previously and it felt a lot worse in handling again, I fear the same problem is occurring. Is there ANYTHING at all someone can do to fix this, be it at a cost... I noticed 1 of you posted that you can sped 400-800 for something for the front end, if there is any way to get it fixed please let me know, even if it is at a cost... If not I might be forced to trade in for a 2007 Altima which really isn't of the same caliber. Anyway thanks in advance.
