I don't know any details, but a friend's 2000 GP has the key stuck in the igniton. His wife told me he just leaves it in the ignition switch while it's parked and uses a second key to unlock the door when he's ready to drive. She said that it does or may sometimes (I'm not sure) run the battery down. I don't know if the key turns all the way off or not and I don't know about problems shifting out of Park. Do you guys think if the key is removed either by the straw trick or solenoid fixes that the battery drain will go away or is ignition switch/lock cylinder replacement a possibility? I'm thinking that this is his problem. Thanks for any comments.

I have a 2000 grand prix gt and I had a problem with the key not turn all the way off so if you look under the steering column and you can stick a pen in a hole and push and it works every time... for me anyways... but does anyone know how to remove the speed limiters on them...
