I know that ''auto asian spares'' in slacks creek (brisbane) had a frontcut - SOHC 16v EN07 Supercharged frontcut awhile ago, I think they still have it, quoted me I think it was about 1300 for the lot, but i'd offer maybe $1k.

I used to have 2 12inch subs in a box, in the back of my 2 seater Fiori, yet one night still managed to fit 5 people in the back. cops pulled us over, but it was lucky my friend that was driving's dads a cop. ohhhhyeaaah

she fits into the craziest places (school walkways), and shes easy to park (especially when your friends pick it up and move it). someone should write a song about it...

Help needed please.

I'm thinking of buying an 91 Fiori with around 120k on the clock. Very tidy car, owned by an elderly couple.

I've had boxer engine Subaru's - still driving an Outback.

Trouble is I'm not up on the in-line 4's.

Can anyone tell me if the Fiori has what sounds like bottom end rumble when the throttle is blipped. Sounds like big end noise, but its not a "thump". I guess I'm asking - has anyone experienced bearing problems in their Fiori.

Second thing is that the rear brakes sound like they're metal to metal, but I'm assured its OK. Perhaps it's the lack of insulation causing braking sound to be magnified.

One last question - what's a reasonable speed to change up to 3rd, 4th & 5th gear - with no tacho I'm having trouble picking the right rev range and the motor doesn't seem to mind.

Hi Geoff.

I have a 1990 Fiori with only 44000km's on the clock. It can sound a little 'clunky' in the bottom end (especially when cold) but it's never given me any problems (I have had her for over a year).

I also find the rear brakes to be a bit noisy. The noise is most obvious after hitting the brakes while reversing (down my driveway) : the first couple of times using the brakes while going forward it sounds like my brake pads are worn out, but they're fine.

I can't tell you a lot about the gears 'cause mine only has four, but mine is just as happy at low revs as it is at high revs... It'll do well over the speed limit in fourth, with ease! I normally have it in top (4th) by the time I'm doing about 60 - 70 km/h and just leave it there...

They're a fantastic little car and run on the smell of an oily rag! I get about 450km out of the 30ltr tank, around town!!!

Where can I get high performance motors like japanese imports, or what can I do to my 92 model fiori en08 motor?

No outrageous posts, but more realistic mods.

Hi everyone, I have just bought a red 92 fiori and she runs great!!! It runs like a breeze, although I still haven't worked out the choke!!! It takes no petrol and is easy to park! Does anyone have any hints for starting with the choke? I have had the car for just over a week and cannot start it up smoothly in the morning. Oh well I will get the hang of it one day. But yeah I love the car!!! One last quick question, does anyone know if you can get a taco for the fiori.

Hey Bec,

You shouldn't have any trouble starting with the choke, mine only needs a little choke on a cold morning. If you are having trouble it may indicate a problem somewhere else.

I am still driving my blue machine, I have owned it for about 3 years now and it hasn't missed a beat, for reliability it is one of the best cars I have owned.

Someone mentioned rear brakes in an earlier post, I did a complete rear brake overhaul when I bought mine, they are really straight forward and I only needed specialist help with rebuilding the slave cylinders.

It rocks to see you guys are into these little cars. I can't wait to see someone actually do the vivo transplant. Please post some photos if you do.

I have a friend who has a fiori with the vivio conversion. speedy little beast. They got it from sunspares about 2-3yrs ago. It does real well on highway and great fuel economy. I'm currently fixing up my little 92 fiori and am wondering how they go on the highway? I mainly want to know if anyone has done long trips in theirs and how the car handled it. I've been told that such small cars don't handle long journeys at high speed. I understand this, but would like to hear some feedback from someone who actually owns and drives one. I'm so excited about finally getting by baby on the road as I have had him for almost 2yrs now, but due to lack of funds and still being on my learners at 20 (currently getting lessons yay!) its been difficult. hopefully it'll only be a few weeks before my fiori is on the road and I have my license to drive it. I felt a fiori was a perfect first car for me and with fuel prices rising, they are great if you're on a budget!

Anyway, if anyone can give me some advice or knowledge on the fiori i'd really appreciate it.

To Bec who hasn't yet worked out the starting procedure of her Fiori. I have a Fiori which I bought new in 1992 and have since covered over 350,000 kms in it. As long as the engine is in a good state of tune and the correct starting procedures are followed, the Fiori will always start first time every time. The starting procedures are as follows:

1. When starting the first time (with a cold engine) pull the choke fully out.

2. Turn on the ignition key until the ignition lights are on and you can hear the fuel pump ticking.

3. Wait for a few seconds until the fuel pump stops ticking and then fully turn the ignition key to start the engine. Do not push the accelerator pedal. The engine should start immediately.

4. Once the engine has started wait for about 30 seconds and then push the choke in one click.

5. Commence driving and after a short distance (about one or two kms) push the choke in another click.

6. Push the choke fully in as soon as the choke light appears.

No choke is required to start when the engine is warm, but I suggest you wait a few seconds until the fuel pump stops ticking before fully turning the ignition key to start the engine. Again, do not push the accelerator pedal when starting the engine.

Hi there thankyou for that post on how to start the fiori. I have got it running quite nicely now. :) I have put roof racks on the little beast now, so that I can carry my kayak around. It is quite funny to see my little red car with a HUGE kayak on its roof, OK the kayak isn't that big it is only slightly longer than the car :). But it runs quite well and I am taking it in for a service tomorrow. YAY

Hi All.

I posted earlier this year about buying a red 92 Fiori (with white decals and exhaust). Still got it and still love it. Wondering if anyone knows what the stud pattern and offset is for these? I definitely need some bigger rims, want to know if civic/lancer wheels will fit. I'm only looking at 15's. I don't know if anything else will fit!

There is another Fiori here in SA, green with red mags and twin exhausts, looks mad! I have some awesome photos of mine, Had them taken when I was thinking of selling, but no more! It's just too much fun and so so cheap. Would love to swap pics with people, my email is medman2damax@gmail.com anybody drop me a line and I'll be glad to do some exchanging.

Also, my car stutters a little when gonig uphill or over 100Kmph, does anyone know why? could it be the fuel filter? Any thoughts would be great, take care Fiorians! We really need our own site so we can all post pics!

Hey another Fiori owner in SA!!! There are quite a few Fiori's roaming around our state. There is a little black one with pink mags, a green one and I have seen 3 other red Fiori's as well as my little red beauty!!! How does the back seat fit into the car? Hi all

how sweet that SA crew are into Fiori's, or as my friend says 'Fiora's!' I bought my green one in mint condition about 2 years ago and the only prob I have had was the computer arching. I thought they were fully carby, but apparently they have a small computer!

I love my Fiori although it makes me nervous driving it sometimes! I saw someone at the Central Market with a blue one and we shared agony about the rego in SA. Because Fioris are 2 seats with a flat back, they are classed as panel vans!! We therefore pay more rego than large 4cycl cars. This is crazy!!!

I drove up to Mount Barker this week and hit 100km/h for the first time!! Pretty scary. A truck overtook me and the slipstream off his truck made my car move from side to side!! They are such tough cars, but certainly feel light and not very safe, but that's a kei car I guess!!

Thanks for setting up the blog for SA drivers. Let's start posting and maybe even have a Fiori show and shine or cruise!! Would love to do mine up, but the panels are too weak. You could get a sweet spray job or kit and then someone leans on it and dents it!
