I purchased a Barcelona Red '94 L (FWD) in 2006. This is my 1st car and I love it! My family purchased it from a guy who said everything was fine. It had 130000+ miles with the original tranny, with a little bump on the rear end and a custom sound system (Alpine and Kicker!!!). We got it the next day because everybody was looking at it in the car.

The test drive was fun, but there seemed to be an oil leak. I took it to a shop that had worked on it 4 years before, and I had to replace the timing belt, cam seals and PVC hoses.

The car worked perfectly until I rear ended a Denali (so close to stopping but the brakes weren't strong enough ;(). The hood was bent, bumper leaned to the side with trailer hitch and tail pipe holes in it. The car is strong and durable as everyone will tell you. A family friend looked at it and said the front end was bent a little. To fix it would be 500 dollars alone, so we got a used black hood. It took tweaking to get it to fit, and now it needs two people to open the hood.

his was bad, but six months later, at 139000 miles, the gears constantly jumped from 1st to 3rd and 4th going only at 20-30 MPH!! And the car wouldn't start sometimes, and the electricals went faulty at times.

A few days before I was going to take it to the shop, I went up a hill, the car wouldn't shift, and I slowly rolled back down the hill. Luckily, no one else was behind me. It was hauled to the shop, only to find 1st-2nd was gone and reverse had been demolished. It took almost 3000 to fix with standard and rebuilt parts.

So I get it back 3weeks later and it drives fine until early 2008. I had to place Falken tires in the front. Right before my senior prom, the battery went out. After starting the car the battery light still came on, so that means time for a new alternator, too. I was already broke (senior prom!!) so I had to take my girlfriend's car and wait 3 weeks for the alternator.

Fine driving again until last month when I had to replace the starter. At the oil check, the guy said he couldn't check my tranny oil because its dipstick was stuck. So right before college, I need my front end straightened, new bumper, better hood, back tires, probably brakes, a whole new paint job, and, to keep the transmission going, an external tranny cooler.

And today I got out of my car in park, I hear a kinda high pitched but not loud sound coming from under the hood. I have researched this car from every source, digital and hardback. I love this car and will keep it forever. The parts are expensive and some of the problems are my fault, but like everyone says, this car gets looks. I even had someone offer me 10000 for it, but I turned it down.

Someone mistook it for a Supra, but I have faith that the SVX would leave the Supra in the dust! The car looks better than plenty of new cars, rivaled HP (230 at 77 degrees), style by Italy and technology from Japan, reliability, and rarity. I truly feel like an individual because only 25000 were produced.

It's alright if Subaru doesn't reproduce the Alcyone SVX, but if they do, they would gain more than enough to cancel out the losses from this vehicle. If you want to get one, remember it requires Sensitivy Variance eXpenses!! Subaru SVX!!

I just bought one for $600... It is a 95. It will not go into 3rd or overdrive, but it looks like an awesome car. I buy and sell cars, but I may just keep this one. It has 142k on the clock, and it got looks the whole way back on the trailer. A little old lady owned it, and I am excited to learn more about it!

A SVX leaving a Supra "in the dust" might be difficult if the SVX couldn't keep running long enough to do so LOL.

Quick question for a alternator problem, all my idiot warning lights are on, after installing a checkers alternator?? Was this a dumb idea, they checked the amps and it is putting out correct amount? Still think it was a bad idea? Any input would be appreciated.
