Have a 94 SE convertible, 3.1L V6 auto. I bought it because we needed another car and it came along cheap; now my neighbors are sure that I've gone over the edge with male menopause.

It's a pocket-rocket and I can finally say that driving is fun. Problems have been normal for a somewhat neglected car: New alternator, brakes, exhaust, heater core, cooling fan, rag top, some interior pieces and window motors. Now it looks and runs great (still don't have a ton of money in it), except for the notorious warped dashboard. Engine, tranny and suspension are very tight for 138k miles and I expect to drive it for a long time.

Question: Those of you who have successfully re-glued the dashboard... how did you do it? Please write to me at director-editor@charter.net.

Thanks!

Hi, I have a 1993 pontiac sunbird 2.0 3 speed auto. My dad bought it in 96 with 79,000 miles. I've had to put a new alternator, water pump, heater core, and I've done the brakes three times and they need done again. It ran great until about 9 months ago The HEAD GASKET blew! It still gets me where I need to go, It just doesn't have the power it used to. I ALSO HAVE THE DASH PROBLEm, I have a brand new pioneer deck, with pioneer 3.5" in the dash and pioneer 6'9"s in back. I installed the stereo just above the factory tape deck, If anyone is interested in how to do this email me at Canihavebutteronmymilkduds@yahoo.com

Overall Its been an OK car, with great gas mileage 23city 32 highway.

I have a 93 SE 3.1 V6 and nothing, but praise for it. I have yet to put a penny into it the whole year I've owned it. Besides adding a $2000 stereo system, but all in all, the car has been great. In fact, I'm driving it to Florida this week from Canada, that's how much confidence I have in the ol girl.

I bought a 93 sunbird LE and that thing is a beast, I have a cold air intake and an exhaust system. I can agree with the warping above the sterio. Also the doors are rusting out, but besides that it's a reliable car and it can smoke a civic any day of the week.

I have had my 1993 Pontiac Sunbird SE convertible for 3 years now and I only drive it in the summer months and all I have had to do is change the transmission filter gasket, get a new rag top, and buy a new battery. This car was well taken care of by the previous owner and I continue to do the same. There isn't a spot of rust on this car. And yes it does have a lot of power. That 3.1 has power, I don't normally race, but when kids pull up in their dad's civics and Aleros and want to race, I can usually say I beat them. I have a JVC deck, and two 10" Orion subs in the truck (tough fitting subs into the small convertible trunk, but is doable)

Overall, though the Sunbird isn't the sportiest car out there it gets the job done with great power, great fuel mileage, and on a summer day with the top down and the subs up you get attention.

I have a Sunbird 93 2.0 Liters. It has problems with the rear brakes and the fan motor. The rear brakes stop the wheels suddenly when you stop, I have to buy new drums. Anyway the car has almost 400,000 miles.

I have had my 1993 Sunbird SE for the past 13 years. Unfortunately, I have had to retire it on Aug. 21, 2006. It had served me well. I will miss it very much. It was an extremely good car. I drove it in the winters as well. They don't make cars like that anymore. Pity!

I have a 93 Sunbird LE with 106,000 miles.

The previous owner changed the water pump, and radiator.

This car is awesome; lots of power for a 4 cylinder. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
