Had the left rear window blocked up yesterday, today the right window fell. 2001 LeSabre, 64,000 miles. Who, but a fool would buy another Buick? Seems they don't care to improve on their poor design.
I for one would gladly buy another Buick. Admittedly I don't own a LeSabre, and my Buick isn't plagued by this problem. The new models do not use the same window regulators either.
Buick made one model with a minor problem, albeit an expensive one. My guess is that a majority of Buick buyers don't even use their windows much, but their air conditioning.
I simply would never buy a Toyota or Honda or any other import. You pay more and get less, plus how can you feel like a patriotic American driving a little econo-box that profits a Japanese company?
I have a 2002 Buick Lesabre Limited Edition - all 4 of my electric windows went bad. All the regulators were replaced after me taking the car to the dealership at least 5 different times.
Now, here I am again with the passenger side window stuck half way down!
I will never ever buy another Buick (and trust me, the window problems are small compared to the other major issues with the car since day one).
Anyway, beware the Buick LeSabre - $32,000.00 worth of trouble and aggravation.
I too have replaced all the window belts on our beloved Buick. The two rear ones broke at the same time.
I have a 2000 Le Sabre Limited with 58k miles. Both rear regulators went bad and the windows dropped. I have them duck taped shut until I can figure out how to fix them myself. The Dealer wants $550 per window to fix. Unacceptable! That's not the only problems I've had either. I've had some very expensive problems with this car. Next car will be a Honda or Toyota for me.
WOW! I see I am no where close to being alone on this issue. As to the comment about just using the AC from the person in mid 2007, do you work for GM or something? My 90 year old grandfather has a 2000 Buick Le Sabre with less than 30,000 miles on it. It is winter time in Ohio and both his rear windows fell down within the same week. There are no replacements in wrecking yards because they are all bad as well or already taken out. I have a difficult time understanding why GM would leave their customers sitting in the cold car on this issue. This has gone well beyond normal wear.
I have a 2002 Le saber. I have had the passenger rear window replaced at a cost of $550.00. 6 months later I had the same problem on the opposite rear window. I was on a trip. I pulled in and had the window screwed in the up position, rendering it inoperable. Currently I hear some not so nice sounds coming from the front passenger window. I fear it is about to go as well. THIS IS MY THIRD LE SABRE. I shall never buy one again in the future. My previous ones were without problems of any kind thus I was sold on the Buick for life. Is there no way we can put pressure on them to force a recall and reimburse the cost of the repairs paid. I love America and am proud to support them, but this is beyond all. Shame on the manufacturer and God bless the employees who will be laid off as a result of mass pull outs of their customers.Who do we call to register this complaint to? Can these complaints be registered with GM or taken to regulatory agencies to enfoce a recall and reimbursement?

Please accept my application to join the 'Buick 3-window failure' club. I have a Le Sabre 2001. The first 2 windows cost me $762.00; last window failed today about 30 minutes ago. My wife, daughter, and grandson are 50 miles away from home when this happened. They called the motor club. The window was raised and taped with duct tape until I take it to a Buick dealer to replace the regulator and motor for probably around $400.00.
Does anyone of you think that Buick or government regulators are doing something about this? I doubt it. Who do we call?
I have a 2000 Buick La Sabre and all four windows broke down. I have asked at the dealership if there has been a recall, but they just say there have been lots of problems with windows, but no recall.
I was so shocked to come across this site with so many complaints about Buick La Sabre windows breaking.
I bought my mother's after she passed away. It had 14,000 miles and it's a 2002. We took it to Pep Boys and they repaired it for $360.00.
When I went to check it out while my husband paid the bill, my other window (right rear) broke. The young guy that worked their came out and took off the door pad and put a piece of wood there to keep the window from going down.. I touched the button by mistake yesterday and now it is down again.
I retired from GM in 2004, and my dad retired with 31 years. The last 2 plants that I worked at are closed... One has and the other is about to close. We built trucks and mini vans. My entire family has always purchased GM cars and this is so bad!! My sister has a new La Cross and her windows have broke also. I'm gonna get in touch with someone soon and if I get good results I will post it... This is embarrassing and they should stand behind this mess.
I'm 18 years old and bought a 2000 Le Sabre in 2003. Not too old, and was well kept by my late uncle. Two of the windows were already not working. A third fell down and now is taped. It pretty much stinks to own a Buick.
Does anyone else's AC not work, or am I alone?
I drive a late model Park Avenue and can't disagree with you more. I love my car and will definitely buy another Buick. I can't tell you how many people I know that have driven Buick after Buick for years. Given most of them are over 18. Maybe you are just too young to appreciate the car.
Has anyone else noticed how many of these cars were purchased from old, or dead, relatives? What does that say about Buick's demographics? I bought my 2003 Le Sabre from my 91 year old father. It had less than 14,000 miles when I got it in December 2006. The driver's window regulator has failed twice. Fortunately, I can replace them myself, but I am not happy about it.
I also have a Buick LeSabre (02). I got an estimate today on a used back window regulator. It was about $200 and the labor about $100. Now I'm wondering if I made a mistake buying a used regulator. It is supposed to be fixed tomorrow so there's still time to back out. Like many others, Duck tape is being used to keep out the rain! Other than that, I have loved my car. I bought it new.
2000 Buick Le Sabre Owner. I just joined the 4th Window Regulator broken Club. I like the car overall but this window thing is wrong. First window went out before I bought it. 2nd I paid for. 3rd my dealership out of customer courtesy paid for. This one I will see latter. My dealership is working with me on it but still very expensive. Buick should recall these and reimburse people.
