Hi, I'm From Lebanon..

I bought my jazz in 2004 and I'm encountering some Cut off problems at 60 Km/Hr and especially steep roads.

Luckily my car is still under warranty and they changed almost everything in it and I still have the same problem.

Recently I was told that I have to change the ECU.

I own a 2005 Jazz 1.5 manual. I'm from Sydney Australia. The cars had a paint problem that was fixed by the dealer for free (roof racks caused discolouration of the silver paint when left on over a couple of months). It also has an intermittent problem when changing gears, the engine cuts out or misses for a second, which is a bit of a pain. The clutch on this model is not very good. It takes up near the top of its movement and is not progressive. Its probably the worst thing about the car. The only other thing is the large drop in revs between 1st and 2nd gear which is hopeless with a load on and starting of off on a steep hill. The car needs 6 speeds or better thought out group of 5. I had an old 1982 Honda civic and it was a much better car to drive than this one and far more comfortable. The steering needs to be adjustable for reach also. Apart from these glitches its not bad for a cheap car.

Hi there, everyone. I had just bought a new Honda Jazz and it came in last month. Basically, before buying the Jazz, we scouted around first. And found this was a neat car. It is small yet spacious, and it was said to save on fuel. I suppose that is true cos I compared with my old car. My passengers used to complain of the impact made by the bumps, but not now, haha. One point - they complain of the hotness in the back while us in the front freeze to death. By the way, I am from SINGAPORE.

Hello, I live in Athens, Greece, and I own a 2003 Honda Jazz that now has 63000 km.

I must say that until I reached 60000 km, nothing went wrong, it was perfect.

After passing the 60,000 km mark, the air conditioner failed and needed replacement of the entire unit, the EGR Valve failed, and just yesterday, the top left engine mount failed.

Unfortunately, I am not satisfied with the car as a result of these failures. It looks like I will change it.

My last car was a 1993 Nissan Sunny which I sold this year with 330000 km, with original AC, engine, transmission, even radiator, among others. All I had repaired was the alternator, starter, and shocks, in 14 years. I guess I am running to the nearest Nissan dealer after repairing the Jazz engine mount.

I have owned a jazz vtis for two years now and the only real problem I have had is the cvt gearbox which has a starter clutch. It causes vibration at 0-8km/h this can be very expensive to repair.

We have a Honda Jazz with just 32000 miles on the clock that seems to be suffering from cold start piston slap or similar. Its got gradually worse over the past year quietens down after a couple of miles, but really sounds like a small diesel initially. My dealer has been very good, but Honda, to date, want us to take the liability of stripping the engine down, they are willing to supply a short engine if we can prove there is a production issue. We have extended warranty, but still the onus is on us to prove an issue. The dealer agrees that the care doesn't sound right. So much for Honda "care"

I too have a Honda Jazz with what I now have been told is "Piston Slap". Mine is a 2002 model and has done 53000 miles. Clearly out of warranty and to be frank I am unimpressed that it makes such a noise, especially as it has been serviced regularly and had magnatex oil from new. This car cost me £11500 when new and I expected it to be trouble free for at least 80000miles (that's why I bought Honda and not a car for half the price from another manufacturer). It has also developed a "lumpy" feel when it accelerates and from reading posts it is no doubt the EGR valve (another £200!!). I have had knackered Ford Escort vans that have been less costly. Certainly won't buy one again, its off to Hyundai and the five year warranty. Not Happy with Honda!
