I just cannot understand why people still buying ALTIS in 2006 and 2007! The car is already almost 10 years - it's an outdated model. C'mon guys if you want to buy a car this year better look at Civic or NIssan sentra or Mazda 3 or VIos. They are more recent and could be even better. Personally, I think Altis is one of the worst cars in terms of exterior design. Not sporty at all and pretty boring.

Would you agree with me?

Cheers.

Hi, I am a altis 1.6E owner. got my car at 2006, it's a 3 years car when I got it. no money for new one... wht to do.

I guess so many ppl still buying n surpporting Toyota altis speaks for itself.

As for the drive, I experience a vibrating drive and loud noise from the wheel after about 1 year I've got this car (means that the car is 4 yearsold). bring to the service centre n testdrive with the technician, he said it may be the bearing that coz the noise, true enough, I have to change both the front wheel bearing. I also change both the front absorbers. and now I really have a smooth drive! cost me about 1k plus. but worth it tho.

Comments Dated 29th Jul 2007 : Your comments is not true. New Altis will be released very soon. In fact it has already released in other countries. Just that you need to be more patient... I love my Altis, it is marvelous after 2 years of owning this car! It practically trouble free.

Hi All:

Toyota Altis 1.8G, April 05 Model, done 40800KM on the clock, going for RM85,000K, worth it?

Since the new Altis is coming out around 2nd quarter of 2008, will the value/price of these 2nd hand/old model Altis drop significantly??

Any comments welcome, cheers.

If the car condition is good, why not? After all, when you buy a new one, it costs you for at least 110K or more. The performance wise will be very much the same.

Hi Folks,

I am getting my new Altis 1.8G in 2 weeks time. I witnessed the new 2008 Altis in Japan. I'm really annoyed with the interior door trim and the dashboard, it's just like GEN2 plastic. Best of all, the speedometer is not like the present Altis, it come with the 2/half-circle design with yellow back light only. Exactly like GEN2 meter. Not the recent "Optriton Meter". It don't come with leather seats either.

Guess, why I don't wait for the new Altis.

Dreamer, I agreed with your comments. The current Altis has better interor design than the new ones. I have seen this in China too. However, the exterior design is much more fashionable than the old ones. Giving the same price, I am sure you will go for the new one, right?

Hi Folks,

Nope! The new Altis will be the before hand discount price +/- 120,000 RM. The feeling is just like a house, the outer is equipted with rod-iron surrounding and waterfall, but no renovation for the interior. So, you mind the new Altis have better look outside than the currnet sleek/comfort design? But, if looking for long lasting look, the current Altis still hold the executive look for another 5yrs or more. The new one, had too many curve, the rear tail light budging out like "Dugong Eye".

Hi Dreamer!

I 100% strongly agree with what you said! I am thinking the same. That's why I am JUST owning a Altis with plate WQQxxxx. I got it few days ago. I feel proud to own it. It looks moderately sporty with a body kit. It's the best car in my mind (after I have been considering many aspects). Altis is suitable regardless whether you are single or with family. My car choice criteria are:

Power + Comfort + Quality + external and interior design (not too futuristic or obsolute + suitable for individual/family + mid class = Altis 1.8G.

If the new Altis keep the old interior design, I am sure it will be the best of most all. But, in life, there is always imbalance, there is pros in it, it will has cons too.

The judgment will be your own eyes. Anyway, I owned by Altis for 2 years, it is a perfect car!!!

Hi Dreamer.

Ya. I heard the same things too when I returned to meet my salesman for NCB discount claim on the day of the new vios launching. He told until evening also can't accept a single booking. Some of them changed their booking from new vios to altis. I have been seeeing many new altis 1.8 with bodykit like mine on the road. New vios is no longer a hot buy after coming out with new design. Anyway, the car is still attractive to female market.

After Chinese New year, new model will be released. Of course, as what we expected like new VIOS released, price is higher than the old ones...
