Man, I love this site. I came here to look at a Golf and got sucked in to this weird parallel universe of dubious reviews.
These cars take exponentially more maintenance than daily drivers. I'm not saying you need to change the oil every 30 minutes, but every time you run the car you should be double-checking tires, fluids, etc. Just like horses, that performance don't come cheap. The upkeep is the real issue, not the sticker price.
I am sitting here at work, and have been Googling reviews, articles and the like regarding the Countach. I have to say I have really seen some postings in which you could obviously tell the posters had never sat, ridden in or owned one of these fabulous cars. Then I came to this website and it was pretty much the same, and there's one guy out of 10 or so who finally calls the BS what it is... hahaha.
I have had the opportunity to drive a friend's Countach from Rancho Bernardo to Rancho Santa Fe, on that highway, in which I forget the number. It's an incredible road. Yes the car is unreal, yes the car is loud, fast, visceral and orgasmic, but in all truth, it scared the hell out of me. Do I want one?? YUP! Will I sell my soul to get one? YUP! Would I choose the Countach over the Murcielago? YUP!! And any other question requiring an answer on ownership... YUP YUP YUP YUP!

Given a quality used Countach sells for around $100K and you can't touch a Murcielago for under $300K (2007 model year is sold out), I think you dream is more a reality than you think!
I genuinely own a half anniversary countach. And have never had any problems with oil leaks or other paraphernalia demeaning this car.
If you have, dream or are going to get one I strongly recommend you do (If you have the money).
And yes it is a bone shaker and has very poor MPG, visibility, headlights and almost anything you can think of. But it is still the most iconic (if that is how you spell it) super-car of the mid 80s and is well worth sparing some time to look thither into it.
I total agree that countach is the super car of super cars. I am only 14 years old, but I want this car since I was 9. I really hope I could ever make my dream come true!!! P.S. I think that all bone-shaking, bad visibility and poor comfort is worth for that engine sound and feeling.
How can you have a 1990 model when the last one was made in 1989?
