I bought a 95 Roadmaster Limited with 47k miles and wire wheel covers a few months ago. I have owned/sold quite a few cars over the years. This one is staying with me. Last week I was in an area I was unfamiliar with and was in the left lane (4 lane road) and needed to turn right. I accelerated fairly quickly to move over, but the Integra next to me must have thought I was trying to race him. He stepped on it and even though by then I was going around 20 mph, I punched it and my rear tires "Chirped" and he was left very dazed and confused. I find myself now, at 40, cruising around looking for Hondas, AcuraS and even the occasional BMW to harass. I would like to get rid of these nasty wire wheel covers though. Maybe a nice set of stock rims off an Impala SS and chrome tips for my exhaust! Is this what they mean by mid-life crisis? I thought it was supposed to be a Porsche, not a Buick!

I have a chance to purchase a brilliant white '94 Roadmaster with 100K, 5.7L, leather and loaded. Never seen snow or salt. MINT shape. Reading these comments, I'm certainly being swayed toward it. Doesn't really suit all of my needs, but it really seems like a "don't miss" opportunity. Thanks for the forum to read that kind of input.

I wish GM read these comments.

May be they will finally understand what a mistake did the do by discontinuing full-size cars in 1996.

My wife and I just bought our 95' Roadmaster from the "lil' ol' lady" whose husband had passed away and it was too much car for her. The car is in mint condition with about every option known to man. The power is unbelievable for a car of this size! We've only had it for two weeks and are ready for a long trip in it. My co-workers call it 'Das Boat' but I don't care, they're the one's who don't know what there missing It's just a wonderful car that we are very happy with.

I have always been a fan of the big B-bodies rolling out of Detroit (Arlington TX for the production plant that once graced the all mighty Roadmonster). My daily driver is a 1995 Caprice Classic. My true gem is the 1996 Buick Roadmaster Limited Edition. I purchased the car about 3 years ago with 65K from a West Virginia wholesaler. I have done some modifications for handling. I have installed Impala SS front springs and rear springs and outfitted the corners with Edelbrock IAS shocks. Very nice addition. I have added a rear sway bar and increased the stock 28 mm front bar to a Caprice police version 30 mm bar. Other enhancments are 17" Eagle Alloy Rims with BF Goodrich Comp TAs P255R17. Feature changes will include an Impala SS rear axle complete with rear disc brakes and a change from the stock 2.56 gear to a 3.73 gear (posi of course). Other changes will be the Impala SS front spindles on the front to lower about 1 inch for handling. This car is great.

I bought a 94 roadmaster about 10 months ago and despite having to replace the starter and a control arm I am very happy with it. I purchased this car for one reason-the LT1 v8. What a motor. The car now has 56 k and it is still very fast and very tight. Absolutely no rattles. The only draw backs are 15 mpg and poor cornering. The cornering can be remedied with wheel and suspension upgrades, but there is not a lot you could do with the mpg. Never the less I do recommend this vehicle for people who want a lot of for not a lot of money. It is also a car for people who are not concerned with looks because this is one of the ugliest cars on the road. But punch the accelerator and this behemoth suddenly becomes pure beauty.

There's no question I'm a "wagon" man. Over the last twenty eight years the only cars I've owned have been "B" body GM station wagons all of which have had the extra seat at the back. While I've had a number of Chev Caprice and Pontiac Parisienne ones I was really impressed seven years ago when I bought a used 1991 Buick Roadmaster wagon that I used exclusively on the highway and had it up to 440,000 kilometres. I'd still be driving it today, but six months ago I had a chance to buy a 1994 Roadmaster wagon with the LT1 Corvette engine. Where I thought the 1991 was a great car the 1994 with the enhanced 350 cid/5.7 litre engine makes it, in my mind, one of the best cars ever built by a North American auto maker. I can only hope when I'm looking for another "new to me" car in about another 8 years I'll be able to find a 1996 with little or no miles. By the way four people, including two mechanics, have asked me to sell them the car at that point because they want the motor out of it. Also, I should add that I was in Niagara Falls last year and rode in a Buick Roadmaster station wagon taxi. The odometer read 750,000 kilmetres and according to the owner/driver it still wasn't using any oil. Is GM listening??? Bring back this vehicle! Once you've driven one on the highway most people agree it puts everything else on the road to shame.

I just bought my roadmaster and I have to say it is very fast for such a big car. Other than having to replace the optispark ($450) because I had to replace the water pump (water got on the optispak when taking off the water pump) it is very nice car. I think I will take it to track and see what it runs in the quarter mile while adjusting my 3 way lumbar ha ha.

Oh yeah, it has 170,000 mile and still running strong.

Mine is the '96 Limited Collectors Edition. I will sell it someday, when I find one with less miles. Otherwise, I will continue surfing, mountain biking, snowboarding, kite surfing, etc. with my ultimate cruising utility vehicle. I might buy a new one next year for my birthday... my 50th.

I bought a 1994 Roadmaster Estate Wagon new in late 1994. It now has 266,000 miles on it. It runs and rides like new. The LT-1 engine uses no oil and I was planning on keeping her till 300,000 miles, but I just bought a 1995 Estate Wagon with only 81,000 miles.

What a great car. Best I ever have owned, and I have owned dozens over the past 50 years.

I own the 1996 Buick RoadMaster, and I think its awesome. It's my first car (I'm only 16). All my friends with their VW Golfs and Honda Civics can't keep up with the massive LT1. I wish I could post a picture, because it looks awesome. 17" Cragar Mags, Dual flowmasters with chrome tips, blue racing stripes, not to mention the MTX sound system. I would recommend this car to anybody. Fun to modify. Fun to drive. and I can take my girlfriend out to the movies with a lot of room to spare :)

I have a 1993 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon. It now has 227,000 miles on it and I swear the body is as tight as the day they built it. It gets 23-25 mpg, uses no oil. I am thinking of replacing it with a 1995-6 Buick Roadmaster to get the LT-1 and to drop the number of miles. I might not look as good as one driving a new Beemer, but my car is paid for and costs me nothing while offering performance, safety, and comfort. Does anyone know if you can take the SS parts and put them on the wagons also?

Peter.

I bought my wife a '96 ruby red Roadmaster on Valentine's Day in 1999. She had seen one and just had to have one just like it. It had about 26,000 miles on it then, and it now has more than 86,000. She won't hear of trading it in. The acceleration isn't all that far away from that of the 1970 Jaguar XKE I drove for 10 years. I'm glad to see so many people happy with their Roadmasters and I wish them the best of luck with them for many years to come.

I just purchased my first Road Master, a 1994 Limited. What a Car! It has only 63,000 miles on it and this car rides better and is more quiet than my 2003 Grand Marquis! My 18 year old son is in awe. I cannot believe that this car is no longer being made. I almost bought a De Ville and I am glad I didn't.

OK, no knew comments in almost a year, but that won't stop me. On the way to the store today I saw a Roadmaster Estate Wagon in a yard for sale. As a twenty year old red blooded wagon guy, I fell in love. I know nothing about the particular car I saw, no year, mileage, options, etc. I just know I must have this car. It's white with wood paneling, but I can't help imagining it dressed in black. First thing tomorrow I'm going back to check it out. I hope to find a little old lady who's desperate to sell for cheap. Also, thanks to everyone's comments - you've just made my attraction to this beast become unbearable. My current car is a 95 Ford T-Bird V8- no slouch in the go department, but that LT-1 sounds nice. I can't friggin' wait. While out and about today I saw about six different Masters. I take that as a sign. I MUST have this car!
