OK.
Hello from Cyprus, thinking of buying the picasso grand 1.6 hdi ,any comments on how reliable this car is, never had a citroen before.
A big plus on safety. A very big minus on gearbox (mechanical faults.
To the writer wondering about the engine size-I have a 1.6 diesel model & I am very impressed with its power output! I had a 1.8 petrol Vauxhall Zafira previously to compare it to. It was suggested to me that the only time a 2.0 diesel gives benefit is if you intend to tow anything & I would tend to agree. One problem I have had is with the drivers seat which gradually lowers as I drive along & I have to 'pump it up' every so often. As yet, this has not been resolved with the dealer.
I've had a C4 Grand Picasso for about 8 months. The EGS gearbox is jerky at high revs with a large lag in response if the throttle is floored.1.6HDI engine is superb with good performance. Main gripe is build quality, seats are cheap and nasty. Driver's seat has become uneven and uncomfortable when cornering as you tend to roll. Would never buy another Citroen, they look good but don't match the £20000 price tag in quality and reliability.
